Abstract: A hydraulic system is provided for a hydraulic shifter assembly of a split shaft assembly having a power take off system and utilized on a vehicle that has an automatic transmission and limited access to the transmission—preventing a direct connection of a power take off to the transmission. The hydraulic system provides hydraulic pressure from the transmission to the hydraulic shifter assembly and back to the transmission from the hydraulic shifter assembly. The system also provides hydraulic pressure from the transmission to the power take off.

A nose portion is formed at the operational end portion, and the nose portion has an outer annular groove disposed generally perpendicularly to the axis. The nose portion also has a non-circular element at the outer end thereof coaxial with the central axis. A rotatable shaft is connected to the motor and located along the central axis. The attachment tool includes a central cavity, an attachment end portion and a working end portion. A non-circular mating element is formed in the central cavity that matingly engages the non-circular element of the rotary tool. There is also a biased connection element provided on the attachment tool, which faces the central cavity. This biased connection element engages the annular groove of the nose portion when the attachment tool is fitted onto the rotary tool.

Abstract: A portable hydraulically driven posthole digger is provided. The present invention is mounted to an existing loader-type tractor or skid steer loader by the use of a ball and socket type attachment such as a trailer ball and trailer tongue apparatus. The tongue is mounted vertically above the post hole digger and the trailer ball is mounted on the loader such as the bucket on a front end loader. The posthole digger's hydraulic motor is powered off of the existing hydraulic system of the equipment being used. This configuration not only provides an inexpensive method of digging post holes, but further requires a minimal amount of mounting hardware and can be easily removed and stored when not in use.
