Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for verifying product information. The apparatus includes an identification module configured to obtain a first set of data associated with a product. A database, in communication with the identification module, is configured to store data associated with the product in a database. An image module is configured to capture at least one image of a product. A recognition module, in communication with the image module, is configured to obtain a second set of data from at least one captured image of the product. A determination module configured to determine whether a match exists between the second set of data and the first set of data by comparing the second set of data with data in the database.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for presenting a document image together with a manual signature. The document image is of a traditionally paper-based transaction document such as a check. The invention includes an imager, a display device, and a controller. The imager generates a document image from a physical document. The display device displays the document image to a user. The controller associates a manual signature generated by the user with the displayed document image. An electronic representation of the manual signature may be generated using a digitizer in communication with the controller. Preferably, the components of the invention are implemented using multipurpose devices such as a touch-screen display, printer/scanner, and the like.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for authenticating a scanned document. Namely, the apparatus includes an ultraviolet (UV) illumination source, a photosensor array, an image processing module, and an image verification module. The UV illumination source illuminates a document having a UV image printed thereon. The photosensor array senses the UV image while the document and UV image are illuminated by the UV illumination source. The image processing module digitally processes the sensed UV image. The image verification module compares the processed UV image with a corresponding benchmark image to determine if the scanned document is authentic.
