  • Publication number: 20060137478
Abstract: A pressure indicating structure comprising (1) a translucent or transparent sheet having opposite first and second major surfaces, reflective structure defining at least a portion of that second surface for reflecting back through the first surface at an observation angle in a predetermined range of observation angles a visually significant amount of the light entering the sheet through its first surface, that reflective structure comprising a multiplicity of peak portions and recessed portions having recessed surface portions of the second surface that define recesses from the peak portions; and (2) a deformable layer comprising pressure sensitive adhesive, the deformable layer having opposite major surfaces with one of those surfaces defined by the pressure sensitive adhesive being along the second surface of the sheet adjacent and over the peak portions of the reflective structure and spaced from the recessed surface portions of the second surface.

  • Publication number: 20060068144
Abstract: A stretch releasing adhesive article for mounting on a wall surface includes an elongated stretch releasing adhesive strip having a first major surface with a non-adhesive contact surface adjacent the first end, and a backplate having a first major surface including a protrusion arranged in overlapping relation with the adhesive strip non-adhesive contact surface that serves to concentrate a force applied by a user in the region of the first end of the backplate in the region of the non-adhesive contact surface of the adhesive strip. A method of adhesively mounting an item to, and removing an item from, a wall surface that is susceptible to damage without damaging the surface is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20050138986
Abstract: A method of applying a tensile or compressive force to a selected location of a work piece or surface without damaging the work piece or the surface and without leaving adhesive residue thereon includes providing a device including a body member and a force applying member movably connected with the body member, attaching the body member and/or the force applying member to the work piece and/or surface using a double-sided stretch releasing adhesive such that one end of the force applying member is adjacent the selected location, and moving the force applying member toward the work piece or surface to generate a compressive force, or moving the force applying member away from the work piece or surface to generate a tensile force.

  • Publication number: 20050121845
Abstract: An adhesively mounted angled clamp-like device for producing a compressive force or tensile force includes a frame, at least two plungers arranged at an angle movably connected with the frame, and double-sided stretch releasing adhesive attached to at least one of the frame and the plungers. The frame and/or plungers can be firmly adhesively bonded to a surface or object and later cleanly removed from the frame, plungers, and/or surface without damaging the surface and without leaving adhesive residue by stretching the adhesive.
