  • Publication number: 20230350408
Abstract: This application describes independent safety systems for robotic systems using a safety rated PLC. For example, a robotic safety system can include a first sensor that is operatively coupled to a drive assembly of a mobile robot. The first sensor can be configured to determine first rotation information of a wheel of the drive assembly. The system may further include a second sensor that is operatively coupled to the drive assembly. The second sensor may be configured to determine second rotation information of the wheel. The system can include a speed conversion module that is configured to receive the first and second rotation information at a first processing rate. The speed conversion module may also be configured to determine corresponding first and second speed information based on the first and second rotation information. The system can include a safety programmable logic controller (SPLC).

  • Patent number: 10900687
Abstract: An HVAC controller includes a touch-responsive display and a scheduling grid having one or more rows representing a 24 hour period of a day-of-week. A user selects an operation to be performed such as adding or deleting a scheduled event, such as a period of occupancy or non-occupancy. A visual representation of the available operations and the temporal regions subject to the available operations is presented. A user may then select the desired region on which to perform the operation, the operation is visually represented on the touch-responsive display, and the user indicates whether the operation should be saved or discarded. The operation may be applied to additional remote HVAC devices in a single operation.

  • Patent number: 8171548
Abstract: Protected software, such as an application and/or DLL, is monitored by protective software to guard against attacks, while distinguishing spurious, benign events from attacks. In a 1-touch approach, the protected software is monitored in a testing environment to detect spurious, benign events caused by, e.g., incompatibility or interoperability problems. The spurious events can be remediated in different ways, such as by applying a relaxed security policy. In a production mode, or 0-touch mode, when the protected software is subject to attacks, the corresponding remediation can be applied when the spurious events are again detected. Security events which occur in production mode can also be treated as benign when they occur within a specified time window. The applications and/or DLLs can further be classified according to whether they are known to have bad properties, known to be well-behaved, or unknown. Appropriate treatment is provided based on the classification.

  • Patent number: 8099178
Abstract: Systems and methods for interacting with and customizing a dynamically extensible and automatically configurable BAS. In one embodiment, the BAS includes a plurality of end devices, at least one communication network, a protocol-independent server engine, and a user interface. User customization options are presented by and accomplished through a graphical user interface. In addition to providing a portal through which users may access, manage, and customize the BAS, the user interface itself is customizable in accordance with and complimentary to the dynamic extensibility of the system.

  • Patent number: 7676428
Abstract: A computer system and method is disclosed that aids assessors in valuing commercial real estate. To support their cost-based value, assessors use the system to generate an income-based value. The user inputs ranking criteria. The system has a database of rents, vacancy rates, expenses, and cap rates that are derived from the market and are specific for application to properties within the assessor's district. The system calculates an income value based on recommended or custom indicators. The system also aids assessors in accurately calculating obsolescence. After the user inputs requested data, the system brings up the trended income value, calculates a percent difference between the cost and income values, and offers an obsolescence analyzer test to determine if there is obsolescence. If there is obsolescence, the system instructs the user on the correct way to apply it, and if not, additional questions are offered to help identify the discrepancy.

  • Publication number: 20090125367
Abstract: Systems and methods for diagnosing production problems in oil field operations are provided. A first video monitor displays an oil field diagnosis process flow chart that includes selectable objects such as Review Well Test Differences, Review Sliders, Review Bad Actors, and Perform Steam Flood Performance Check. Each selectable object is associated with one or more incompatible domain-specific software applications. One or more of the selectable objects are selected and one or more additional video monitors display reports extracted by a middle-ware software code segment layer from the associated domain-specific software applications. Oil wells having production problems are listed and problem oil wells are displayed on an oil field map. Any commonalities among the displayed problem oil wells indicative of a common cause of the production problems are visually identified. Work is scheduled in the associated domain-specific software applications sufficient to remedy the common cause.

  • Patent number: 5687208
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for predicting prior to injection an organ specific contrast enhancement in a patient for a preselected contrast injection protocol for pre-determining a computed tomography scan. The invention is preferably implemented in a computer program which creates a mathematical model of human cardiovascular physiology in a hypothetical patient with a specific body habitus subjected to the pre-selected contrast injection protocol. The predicted contrast enhancement is then displayed for operator approval and may be then used to control a CT scanner or contrast injector system, to perform the injection and scan with the pre-selected injection protocol and scan parameters. The mathematical model includes models of organs and vessels using differential equations to describe mass transport of contrast agent through the cardiovascular system.
