  • Publication number: 20120217325
Abstract: A pressurized liquid dispensing mobile unit used to treat metallic surfaces by applying liquid under pressure to such surfaces. The pressurized liquid dispensing mobile unit has two endless tracks that move the unit over the surface being treated. Each track has magnetic sections that hold the unit to the surface being treated. Liquid under pressure is supplied to liquid dispensing means that are mounted for movement between a first position at which liquid is dispensed under pressure and a second position at which liquid is not dispensed and an observer has an unobstructed view of the liquid dispensing means. The movement of the pressurized liquid dispensing mobile unit along the surface being treated and the supply of liquid under pressure to the unit for treatment of the surface on which the pressurized liquid dispensing mobile unit is mounted are controlled from a remote location.

  • Patent number: 5957460
Abstract: A seal assembly is provided intended to locate sealing means (13, 14) between a housing (10, 11) and another member (15) which may be fixed or rotating. A housing for the sealing member is formed of two parts (10, 11) between which the sealing member is to be located. A first housing part (10) may be in two portions arranged to be fitted together. A second housing part (11) is located between the two portions of the first housing part (10) and a seal (13, 14) is located between the two housing parts. The assembly is secured together by welding the two portions (10A, 10B) of the first housing part.

  • Patent number: 5749264
Abstract: An improved gear change mechanism is provided for semi-automatically selecting a change up or change down gear change. The mechanism includes a shaft (31) which is movable in its axial direction and about its axis to make one such movement or a combination of such movements according to the gear to be selected. The shaft (31) is moved by pistons (36, 37) coaxial with the shaft for the axial movement and a piston (46) at a right angle to the shaft for the rotational movement. In practice the axial movement is a translating movement and the rotary movement is a movement into and out of engagement with the gears. Throttle and clutch control functions are also provided so that a gear change is initiated and brought about by switches (19A and 19B).
