Abstract: A computer-based system processes applications for financing, such as applications for equipment financing. The system represents each financing application process using a collection of data structures, referred to as “navigable items.” Each person involved in a financing application process, such as the applicant, sales representative, and sales manager, may be assigned a corresponding role. The user experience that the system provides to each user in connection with the financing application process, such as the information that the system does and does not present to the user in connection with the financing application process, varies depending on the content of the navigable items within the process and the role of the user in the process. In this way, embodiments of the present invention provide a flexible system that adapts its behavior both to different financing products and to the roles of different users within financing application processes.
