The position sensing modules are configured to receive electrical characteristics associated with one or more switches of a device over a predetermined period of time, the one or more switches being configured to connect service to or disconnect service from a customer; calculate a match indicator for each phase of the device including the one or more switches, the match indicator indicating whether an electrical characteristic on a load-side of the device matches a same electrical characteristic on a line-side of the device for each phase of the device; and determine a position of the one or more switches based on the received electrical characteristics and the calculated match indicator for each phase of the device.

A module is configured to determine a position of one or more switch poles by measuring a current across the one or more switch poles. If a current is greater than or equal to a predetermined current threshold, the position is closed. If a current is less than the predetermined current threshold, the position is open. The module is configured to determine a line voltage with respect to a first reference value, determine a load voltage with respect to the first reference value, compare the line voltage to the load voltage to determine if the line voltage and the load voltage are within a predetermined threshold, and confirm the position of the one or more switch poles based on the comparison of the line voltage to the load voltage for the one or more line phases.

The two lengths of shape memory alloy wire apply a couple to the movable element perpendicular to the movement axis and the suspension system includes a pair of flexures or bearings that resist the resultant couple applied to the movable element by the lengths of SMA wire.

    Abstract: A method of growing single crystal diamond assisted by polycrystalline diamond growth to enhance dimensions and quality of the single crystal diamond includes thermally mating a diamond seed on a top surface of a substrate holder providing a growth surface for a combination of single crystal diamond and polycrystalline diamond. A predetermined temperature difference between the diamond seed and the substrate holder during processing along with the plasma process conditions causes a single crystal diamond growth rate to be different from a polycrystalline growth rate by a predetermined amount. Process gasses are introduced, and a plasma is formed to grow both single crystal diamond and polycrystalline diamond on the growth surface so that the polycrystalline diamond grown adjacent to the single crystal diamond shields side surfaces of the growing single crystal diamond, thereby improving growth quality across the growing single crystal diamond.
