  • Publication number: 20060248818
Abstract: A support member for a sunroom or patio enclosure comprises a pair of interfitting elongated U-shaped channel members that are latched resiliently together to form a hollow rectangular tube. Side panels of a first channel member fit inside side panels of a second channel member and extend to a position immediately adjacent the back panel of the second channel member, so the side panels overlap and reinforce each other for a substantial portion of the width of the side panels. The channel members are latched together by a latch mechanism comprising slots in the front edges of the inner side panels of the first channel member that engage ridges positioned in the outer side panels immediately adjacent the back panel of the second channel member. The latch automatically engages when the two channel members are slid together and resists disengagement.

  • Patent number: 7098664
Abstract: A multi-mode oil base mud imager for use in non-conductive drilling fluid includes at least one current source—a current return pair, and one or more monitor electrodes not located between the current source and the current return of the current source-current return pair. Where more than one current source-current return pair is included, the tool is capable of multiple depths of investigation into surrounding formation. This data can be used as a gauge to establish the reliability of the data and to determine the resistance of the invaded zone around the borehole, as well as standoff distance of the tool from the borehole wall.

  • Patent number: 6984031
Abstract: Multi-compartmentalized ink cartridges for ink jet printers and improved methods for making the ink cartridges. The multi-compartmentalized ink cartridge includes a molded, open-topped body having an interior cavity and a printhead surface area opposite the interior cavity. A divider wall is integrally molded with the molded body structure and disposed in the interior cavity to provide at least three segregated ink chambers. The divider wall includes a first wall section and a second wall section attached substantially perpendicular to the first wall section. At least first, second, third molded ink flow paths connect each of the at least three segregated ink chambers with the printhead surface area. The second and third ink flow paths are oriented relative to their corresponding ink chambers for molding with a mold insert tool so that the cartridge body does not require a separately attached member to close mold insert tool insertion areas in the body.

  • Patent number: 6811250
Abstract: An inkjet printhead having a unitary body with an ink conduit between an ink outlet port of an ink compartment and an ink feed slot compatible with a heater chip has an ink conduit plug laser welded thereto to prevent ink from leaking from the ink conduit as the ink flows from the ink outlet port to the ink feed slot during use. In one embodiment, the ink conduit plug has a lid and an insertion portion. The lid has a laser transparent periphery that becomes illuminated with a laser light to weld an undersurface thereof over an opening of the ink conduit. Techniques for laser welding include an advancing laser beam or a simultaneous welding structure. In another embodiment, the ink conduit plug has two plug sections banded together with either a flexible material or angularly disposed links. The banded plug sections may or may not be laser welded.

  • Publication number: 20040167717
Abstract: A target object position sensing apparatus for a host vehicle, comprises a lane detection apparatus provided on the host vehicle which includes an image acquisition means adapted to capture an image of at least a part of the road ahead of the host vehicle, a vehicle path estimation means adapted to estimate a projected path for the host vehicle, and a target vehicle detection apparatus which is adapted to identify the position of any target objects located on the road ahead of the host vehicle, the position including data representing the distance of the target vehicle from the host vehicle. A first data processing means determines a target lane in which the host vehicle will be located when it has travelled along the projected path by the distance to the target object and a second processing means compares the position of the target vehicle determined by the target vehicle detection means with the position of the target lane to provide a processed estimate of the actual position of the target object.

  • Publication number: 20040080573
Abstract: In a system for laser welding upper and lower work pieces along a weld interface, the upper work piece being transparent to laser light and having a non-uniformly thick dimension, compensation plates and compliant members are taught that mate or otherwise contact the upper work piece such that a combined thickness of the upper work piece and the compensation plate or compliant member is substantially uniform in a region at least above the weld interface. In this manner, substantially consistent amounts of laser light reach the weld interface. The upper work piece may include positive projections, negative voids, contoured profiles, surface imperfections or other that cause the non-uniformity. In one embodiment, the compensation plate is fashioned together with a compliant member. In another embodiment, the upper and lower work pieces comprise inkjet printhead lids and bodies, respectively.

Abstract: The present invention provides a support base and neutral base for an interior assembly in an electrical distribution device and a method of assembling the same. The interior assembly having at least one bus bar and neutral bar connecting the electrical distribution device to a circuit having at least one phase. The neutral bar and bus bar having a bottom wall and side walls. The support base includes a generally planar body defining a mounting surface on one face of the body and means for mounting the bus bar on the mounting surface. The support base also includes means for retaining the bottom wall of the neutral bar abutting the mounting surface of the body. The retaining means is manually operated and integrally formed with the mounting surface and has a plurality of projections upstanding from the mounting surface. The projections are adapted to abut the side walls of the neutral bar so as to prevent movement in at least one direction horizontally.

  • Patent number: 5898996
Abstract: A method for producing a cylindrical automotive condenser manifold tank (28) provides a regularly spaced series of tube insertion slots (66) located entirely externally to the original outer surface of the blank (34) from which the tank (28) is formed. In addition, the slots (66) are provided by a peripheral bulge (54) that provides a lead in surface and support shelf for the ends (24) of the flat flow tubes (22). The blank (34) is hydroformed between a pair of dies (42, 44) designed to create the desired external surface features, while preserving the round inner surface of the blank (34) without an internal support mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4048884
Abstract: Control of the flow of fibrous material and selective shearing the material at predetermined lengths is provided by apparatus including a first shear element having an aperture in a plane face thereof and adapted with an input tube for feeding the fibrous material through the aperture in the shear element. A second shear element is rotatably attached to the first shear element and has an aperture in a plane face thereof alignable with the aperture of the first shear element. An egress tube is attached to the second shear element for receiving material from the aperture in the second shear element when aligned with that of the first shear element. The fibrous material is moved through the input tube and out of the egress tube by air pressure when the apertures in the shear elements are aligned. By rotating the first shear element relative to the second shear element, the fibrous material passing through the apertures therein is sheared and the flow of material therethrough stopped.
