  • Patent number: 7328516
Abstract: A reflector for projecting a laser beam in a fan-shaped plane of light are provided. Associated with each reflector is at least one light source. Each light source is oriented relative to its associated reflector such that the axis of the beam of light hits the reflector off-center to generate a plane of light that is dispersed less than 360 degrees. Multiple planes of light generated by the reflector and light sources are projected in a common plane such that the independently generated planes of light overlap to create a single plane of light dispersed up to 360 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20070175300
Abstract: The wrench comprises a body that includes a handle that supports a fixed jaw. The body further includes a passage for receiving a movable jaw. A movable jaw includes an engagement portion that is slidably received in the passage such that the movable jaw is able to slide in the passage relative to the fixed jaw. The movable jaw includes a series of ratchet teeth. The ratchet teeth are arranged such that the distal ends of the teeth are in a plane where the plane is at an oblique angle with respect to the direction of movement of the movable jaw. The engagement faces of the teeth are perpendicular to the plane. A ratcheting locking mechanism is provided that prevents movement of the jaws away from one another but allows movement of the jaws towards one another.

  • Publication number: 20070101599
Abstract: The tape measure may consist of a relatively large tape blade. To accommodate a large blade the tape measure housing is formed as a hollow annulus having an open central core where the blade is wound about the core of the annular housing. Because the housing has a central opening it can be easily carried in one hand. The device also includes a locking mechanism for locking the tape in an extended position and a rewind mechanism for rewinding the tape back into the housing. The rewind mechanism may comprise a belt drive, opposed springs with a cam lock, a linear spring compressed by a gear drive, a motor driven gear drive, a flat spring and gear drive or a magnetic drive.

  • Publication number: 20070062017
Abstract: A bipolar forceps includes a shaft having opposing jaw members at a distal end thereof and a drive assembly for moving the jaw members relative to one another from a first position wherein the jaw members are disposed in spaced relation relative to one another to a second position wherein the jaw members cooperate to grasp tissue therebetween. The forceps also includes a handle having a first and second gripping portions which cooperate with first and second movable actuators, respectively, for independently actuating the drive assembly to move the jaw members. The forceps is connected to source of electrical energy such that the jaw members are capable of conducting energy through tissue held therebetween to effect a tissue seal. The forceps also includes a selectively advanceable knife assembly for cuffing tissue along the tissue seal.

  • Publication number: 20070056173
Abstract: The laser reference tool of the invention consists of a base that can be releasably mounted to a surface. A housing is mounted on the base such that it can be repositioned relative to the base in a direction parallel to the surface. A turret carrying the laser module is rotatable about first and second orthogonal axes. The laser module is also rotatable relative to the turret about a third axis orthogonal to the first and second axes.

  • Publication number: 20070028725
Abstract: The wrench comprises a handle that is pivotably connected to a body portion. The body portion supports a fixed jaw. A movable jaw is slidably supported on the body portion such that the movable jaw can move relative to the fixed jaw to vary the spacing between the jaws. When the handle is rotated in a first direction the spacing between the jaws increases to allow the jaws to slip over a work piece and provide a ratchet function. When the handle is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction the movable jaw is moved towards the fixed jaw to close on and grip the workpiece. In one embodiment a link moves the movable jaw relative to the fixed jaw and forms part of an dead/over-center locking mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20070025800
Abstract: The instant invention is a mechanical pencil. The pencil includes a body having a cavity and a lead holding mechanism located in the cavity. The lead holding mechanism includes a pair of arms joined together by a bridge. Each arm terminates with a pair of fingers. The fingers close together when the lead holding mechanism is recessed into the cavity. The fingers open when the lead holding mechanism is advanced out of the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20060130341
Abstract: A saw blade, especially for a handsaw, along the longitudinal edge of which a series of saw teeth is formed which has a geometric saw-tooth base line extending along the saw blade and is divided by at least one tooth gap, preferably a plurality of tooth gaps, into sections of the series comprising a plurality, especially more than two saw teeth, a free space of recessed saw blade material in the area of a tooth gap and extending beyond the saw-tooth base line into the saw blade being provided with an undercut.
