Patent number: 10124175Abstract: An inner subassembly of a delivery system assembly extends within a lumen of an elongate outer tube of the assembly, and includes a flared distal end, which is preferably configured to conform to a proximal end of an implantable medical device; a distal-most portion of the outer tube is sized to contain both the flared distal end and an entirety of the medical device. The inner subassembly includes a core, an elongate pull-wire, extending along the core, and a sheath surrounding the pull-wire and the core; the sheath includes a slot opening that allows the pull-wire to pass laterally therethrough. The assembly preferably has a pre-formed curvature along a length of the sheath, and the slot opening extends along the pre-formed curvature. The outer tube is longitudinally moveable relative to the inner subassembly, for example, to deploy the medical device.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2015Date of Patent: November 13, 2018Assignee: Medtronic, Inc.Inventors: William A Berthiaume, H Allan Steingisser, Don H Tran, Erik Griswold, Brent L Locsin, James C Allan

Patent number: 6756043Abstract: Compositions and methods for the detection of adult Taenia solium and the diagnosis and treatment of T. solium infection are described. The compositions contain one or more adult T. solium polypeptides. The polypeptides are useful as diagnostic agents for the detection of adult tapeworm infection. More preferably, the polypeptides are T. solium glycoprotein antigens referred to herein as T. solium excretory/secretory (TS/ES) polypeptides. The most preferred TS/ES polypeptide has a molecular weight of approximately 33 kDa, 38 kDa, or 42 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2002Date of Patent: June 29, 2004Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and PreventionInventors: Victor C. W. Tsang, Patricia P. Wilkins, James C. Allan

Patent number: 5023148Abstract: The present invention provides novel magnetic recording media wherein the magnetic recording material is an alloy consisting essentially of a major amount of cobalt and either or both of a minor amount of a nonmagnetic element soluble in cobalt which reduces the face-centered cubic phase, or a minor amount of another element which increases the coercive force of the alloy by isolating grain boundaries. The presence of either or both of these additives increases the coercive force of the alloy with attendant improvement in digital recording performance.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1987Date of Patent: June 11, 1991Assignee: Seagate Technology, Inc.Inventors: Robert D. Fisher, James C. Allan

Patent number: 4180840Abstract: Various flexible disk information storage systems use a dual-component access arm which includes both a magnetic transducer and a pressure pad. The transducer rides on one side of the disk while the pressure pad is applied to the opposite side of the disk so as to increase the loading of the transducer against the normally-flexible surface. Such disk systems can include two such transducer/pad pairs, oppositely-oriented so that both sides of the disk can be read. In the disclosed cleaning disk assembly, an abrasive material is placed on one side of the disk and a smooth surface is placed on the other. The abrasive side is used to clean a transducer, while the smooth side is used to present a standard surface to the associated pressure pad. The cleaning assembly includes a reversible container having special apertures which enable the system software, in conjunction with disk drive detection elements, to automatically determine abrasive surface orientation.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1978Date of Patent: December 25, 1979Assignee: Burroughs CorporationInventor: James C.
