  • Patent number: 5719771
Abstract: A system for mapping occurrences of conditions along a transport route is provided. The transport route is travelled by a vehicle storing cargo. The system includes at least one mobile sensing station mounted on the vehicle traversing the transport route. The mobile sensing station detects occurrences of the conditions along the transport route to the vehicle. At least one of the conditions indicates that the vehicle is influenced by the conditions. The sensing station receives positional data, correlates the positional data with corresponding occurrences of the conditions, and transmits the correlated data.

  • Patent number: 5475597
Abstract: A system for mapping the occurrences of predetermined events or conditions along a transport route travelled by a mobile sensing station includes a central controller connected to the mobile sensing station over a first communication system such as a satellite communication system. The mobile sensing station continuously detects for occurrences of predetermined events or conditions so that a real-time indication of transport route conditions can be provided to a remote user connected to the central controller. The transmission of data regarding the occurrence of the predetermined conditions, time and date data corresponding to those conditions and positional data also corresponding to those conditions can be triggered using a variety of techniques.

  • Patent number: 4674904
Abstract: A brush for use in a self service car wash having an applicator head containing cleaning bristles and an elongated tubular handle adapted to bring wash fluids to the head. A relief valve is positioned in the handle which is designed to open when the fluid pressure in the handle exceeds a given value. A control valve is located between the relief valve and automatic fluid dispensing equipment for delivering fluids to the brush during a wash cycle. A bypass is provided in the control valve that permits water to drain into the handle when the control valve is closed, as for example between wash cycles. Pressure thus builds up in the handle behind the relief valve whereupon the valve periodically opens to relieve the pressure.

  • Patent number: 4512814
Abstract: A heated bath of cleaning liquid is contained in an open top trough into which the bristles of a long handled car washing brush, having a nozzle enclosed within the bristles, are immersed. The edges along the top opening of the trough are provided with flow deflectors that are arranged to redirect liquid moving up the inside wall of the trough back into the bath. The handle is held in a stored position so that the nozzle directs cleaning fluid delivered thereto downwardly into the bath. Cleaning fluid is pulsed through the nozzle to produce heavy agitation in the bath to scrub soils from the brush bristles.
