Patent number: 9340938Abstract: A snow thrower comprising a frame, a handle coupled to the frame, a chute coupled to the frame and rotatable between a plurality of positions about a chute axis, and a chute control assembly. The chute control assembly comprises an actuator assembly including an actuator movable between a plurality of positions, a rotatable flexible cable having first and second ends, and a gear assembly comprising at least one gear. The first end is coupled to the actuator assembly in a manner that causes the cable to rotate when the actuator is moved between the plurality of positions. The gear is coupled to the second end in a manner that causes the gear to rotate when the cable rotates. The chute is coupled to the gear in a manner that causes the chute to rotate about the chute axis when the gear rotates.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2012Date of Patent: May 17, 2016Assignee: TECHTRONIC OUTDOOR PRODUCTS TECHNOLOGY LIMITEDInventors: James C. Patent number: 9127195Abstract: A quantity of insoluble solid particles is coated with a hydratable gelling agent to produce a composition comprised of a mass of discrete solid particles which is dry and flowable. The composition is made by placing a binder on the insoluble solid particles and then, while the binder is sticky, placing a hydratable gelling agent on the sticky binder to thereby form the composition. The hydratable gelling agent on the composition, upon contact with an aqueous liquid, operates to increase the viscosity of the aqueous liquid.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2012Date of Patent: September 8, 2015Assignee: Fritz Industries, Inc.Inventors: James C. Ferrell, Jr., James J. Lavene, Trinidad Munoz, Jr.

Patent number: 4539162Abstract: An air intake assembly for a golf cart engine provides an air inlet port in a passenger compartment shielded from road dust for introducing clean air for combustion into the carburetor located in the rear mount engine compartment, as connected by flexible air flow tubing. A special choke mechanism located in the passenger compartment eliminates the need for a butterfly valve in the carburetor and the need for a choke cable extending between the two compartments. Thus, choking is achieved by manually operating a biased open valve in the form of a cover cap on the air inlet port to restrict air inlet flow at a convenient location in the passenger compartment, rather than by a complex and critical butterfly assembly in the carburetor connected by a cable to a driver accessible location. The air inlet mount includes an intake air tuned silencer to remove audio frequency intake noises.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1984Date of Patent: September 3, 1985Assignee: Club Car, Inc.Inventor: James C.
