  • Patent number: 5639017
Abstract: A carrier having an integral handle extending from one end panel to the other. The top panel is formed by overlapping flaps extending from the side panels. A handle strap extending along the length of the carrier is defined by spaced slits in the overlapped top panel flap and by a single slit and a spaced edge in the overlapping top panel flap. A reinforcing flap is adhered to the overlapped top panel flap. The handle straps overlie and are adhered to each other to form a two-ply handle. The reinforcing flap spans the opening vacated by the handle straps when the carrier is lifted.

  • Patent number: 5593087
Abstract: A container formed by wrapping a slotted flexible sheet about rigid end panels having corner projections that extend through the slots. The end panels are formed by a flap foldably connected to the sheet which may be reinforced by other connected flaps. Additional reinforcement may be provided by end panel stiffener inserts. Stacking projections on the end panels extend through slots in the flexible sheet to maintain the sheet in place.

  • Patent number: 5575419
Abstract: A container formed by wrapping a slotted flexible sheet about rigid end panels having upper corner projections that extend through the slots. The end panels are formed from a blank having end flaps which are folded and adhered to the main body of the blank to provide double thickness at the end portions. Additional reinforcement may be provided by a reinforcing flap connected to the main body or by a stiffener insert. Stacking projections on the end panels extend through slots in the flexible sheet to maintain the sheet in place.

  • Patent number: 5558224
Abstract: A triangular carrier comprised of a top panel and converging end panels connected to triangular side panels. The carrier holds a plurality of rows of articles, each article extending between the side panels, with each row containing a greater number of articles than the next lower row. For an equilateral carrier, each row contains one more article than the next lower row. Openings at the corners of the carrier allow portions of adjacent articles to protrude.

  • Patent number: 5489061
Abstract: A carton including a bevel panel and adjacent areas comprised of multi-ply construction. The bevel panel of each ply is defined in part by spaced score lines. The score lines of each ply are spaced apart a distance greater than the spacing of the score lines of the next outer ply. This results in the plies of the bevel panel being slightly spaced from each other. An example of such bevel panels is in the type of container formed by wrapping a slotted flexible sheet about rigid end panels having corner areas which extend through the slots.

  • Patent number: 5476217
Abstract: A divider panel for separating bottles in a carton. The divider panel is provided with shock absorbing feet so that upon being propelled at high speed into a group of adjacent bottles, the feet distort upwardly upon impact. This prevents the divider from bouncing out of the group as it would if the feet were not provided. Cutouts in the upper edge portions of the divider panel allow the panel blanks to be conveniently delivered to the insertion station.

  • Patent number: 5351815
Abstract: A neck clip carrier comprised of two carrier units separated by a handle structure. Each carrier unit is comprised of a bottom panel and two angled side panels. The bottom panels and side panels contain openings for receiving two bottles, the lower edge of the side panel openings engaging the underside of the bottle flanges to support the bottles. The handle structure comprised of spaced panels hinged together at their upper edges, and the bottom and side panels of the carrier units are of two-ply construction. Tear strips may be provided in the plies of the outer side panels to facilitate access to the bottles. The carrier is formed from a single blank of material.

  • Patent number: 5351816
Abstract: A neck clip bottle carrier having angled side panels of two-ply construction. The lower edges of openings in the side panels engage the underside of bottle flanges to support the bottles. The inner and outer plies of the side panels contain tear lines which are aligned with and overlie each other. The tear lines extend at an angle to the vertical from the lower edge of the side panels to a point on the lower support edge of the nearest bottle neck opening. Severance of overlying tear lines in a side panel permits the associated bottle to be removed through the side panel.

  • Patent number: 5344066
Abstract: A carton constructed to permit the contents to be poured out over an upper corner. The top panel includes a fold line about which a corner closure flap pivots. The corner flap includes a flange formed by tear lines in portions of the adjacent side and end panels. Additional layers of material in face-to-face contact with the inner surface of the side and end panels in the area of the closure flap provide edges over which the contents are poured. The closure flap fits tightly over the additional layers to hold it in place after it has been reclosed.

  • Patent number: 5341984
Abstract: A carton with an opening through which the contents can be poured. An opening in an end panel is normally covered by a closure flap connected to the top panel. The flap is maintained in closed position by another flap which includes a tear strip. Removal of the tear strip permits access to the closure flap, enabling it to be opened for pouring. A slot in the end panel receives the closure flap when the closure flap is reclosed.

  • Patent number: 5326024
Abstract: A carton for packaging pourable material. Upper end panel sections are connected by gussets to sloped upper side panel sections, and the latter are connected by overlapping horizontal flaps. Separation of an end tear strip portion of the horizontal flaps allows an upper end panel section to be folded out to form a pouring spout configuration. The tab remaining after separation of the tear strip portion is inserted in a slit in the upper end panel section to hold the section in place after being reclosed.
