  • Publication number: 20230038761
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to agents, compositions targeting to von Willebrand factor (VWF). The VWF targeting agents are synthetic polynucleotides, including VWF binding agents and their reversal agents. The VWF binding agents are VWF binding aptamers that bind to and inhibit the VWF activities. The VWF binding agents can be reversed using reversal agents to reverse the inhibitory effect and thereby restore VWF activities. The disclosure further provides methods for regulating the activities of VWF, thereby modulating VWF mediated platelet functionality, such as thrombosis. the present VWF targeting agents may be used for preventing thrombus formation and treating thrombotic disorders.

  • Publication number: 20020115165
Abstract: A method is disclosed whereby cells having a desired function are seeded on and into biocompatible, biodegradable or non-degradable polymer scaffolding, previously implanted in a patient and infiltrated with blood vessels and connective tissue, to produce a functional organ equivalent. The resulting organoid is a chimera formed of parenchymal elements of the donated tissue and vascular and matrix elements of the host. The matrix should be a non-toxic, injectable porous template for vascular ingrowth. The pore size, usually between approximately 100 and 300 microns, should allow vascular and connective tissue ingrowth throughout approximately 10 to 90% of the matrix, and the injection of cells such as hepatocytes without damage to the cells or patient. The introduced cells attach to the connective tissue and are fed by the blood vessels. Immediately prior to polymer implantation portacaval shunts can be created to provide trophic stimulatory factors to the implants to enhance replication and function.

  • Patent number: 4291847
Abstract: A spool-like member for being removably attached to the drive wheels of a vehicle. One end of a flexible cable is attached to the spool-like member. The other end of the cable is attached to a fixed object such as a tree or rock. Rotation of the drive wheels will cause the cable to wind around the spool-like member and will cause the vehicle to be drawn toward the fixed object. The spool-like member can be removed from the drive wheels regardless of whether the cable is fully wound onto the spool-like member or not. The drive wheels can be removed from the vehicle without removing the spool-like members from the drive wheels.
