  • Publication number: 20080152343
Abstract: A system is provided for intercepting signals transmitted between a target served by a fiber optic network and a subscriber. A network is described having a phone switch at a central office configured to receive signals for transmission to and from a target, such as the target of a criminal investigation. A signal received at the central office is assigned to an analog circuit, and a monitoring device configured to intercept and monitor the signal is installed along the analog circuit at a location that allows the monitoring of communications without notifying the target that he is under surveillance. After the signal has been monitored, it is converted to a digital signal for transmission. A method is also provided for intercepting a signal transmitted between the target served by a fiber optic network and a subscriber, such that a monitoring device may be installed without alerting the target.

  • Patent number: 5737965
Abstract: A transmission is provided for converting rotary input into an oscillating output. The transmission includes a housing with an input shaft and an output shaft, and a series of gears interconnecting the shafts. The gears include a pair of rack gears on opposite sides of an output pinion mounted on the output shaft. The rack gears are held in meshing engagement with the output pinion by a carrier which is mounted upon a floating bushing on the output shaft. The floating bushing allows the rack gears and rack carrier to move side-to-side relative to the output shaft, thereby equalizing the load on the rack gears and preventing binding between the teeth of the rack gears and the teeth of the output pinion.

  • Patent number: 5417354
Abstract: A compact apparatus for carrying and storing: one or more fully rigged fishing poles, shotguns, hunting rifles, tripods, pairs of skis, or a combination thereof. Comprising three major components: (1) A protective "sleeve" that encases a selected item and that has connectors for attaching the sleeve to a "strap assembly." For encasing fully rigged fishing poles, said sleeve is a cone shaped bag with a drawstring closure and is made from a triangular shaped sheet of pliable material wherein the two elongated edges of the triangle have been seamed together and the base edge of the triangle has been hemmed. A drawstring is placed within the hem and a drawstring locking device is attached to the drawstring thereby providing the capability to control the degree of openness of the sleeves' opening.
