  • Patent number: 8342483
Abstract: A wiring tool and method are provided for protecting a length of wiring being pulled along a wiring path through a connection box, through use of an attachment plate arrangement of the wiring tool having first and second plate elements cooperatively configured for movement from first to second relationships with respect to one another such that the wiring tool can be removed from or placed about the length of wiring without having to feed the entire length of wiring through a closed periphery of an aperture in the attachment plate. One or more rollers mounted to the attachment plate along the aperture preclude the wiring from contacting edges of the aperture while being pulled through the wiring tool.

  • Patent number: 7178226
Abstract: An electrician's tool generally comprises a plate having a hole formed therein, the hole defined by an inner edge. The edge includes means for safely sliding wire through the hole and past the edge. In one embodiment the means for safely sliding the wire includes at least one roller rotatably positioned adjacent the inner edge for safely sliding the wire past the edge. In another embodiment of the invention, the means for safely sliding comprises a round bar or curled inner edge providing a curved surface for safely sliding the wire across the edge.

  • Patent number: 6791031
Abstract: A fitting for an electrical conduit uses a cam lock arrangement. The fitting has an annular pocket for receiving the end of a conduit section. An opening through the wall of the fitting intersects the pocket. The cam lock is mounted so that a cam portion projects through the opening. A lever projecting above the body of the fitting rotates the cam lock to cause it to engage and indent an inserted conduit section to lock the conduit section in place. A method is provided by which conduit sections can be joined using only a single tool, such as a pair of slip joint channel pliers.
