  • Patent number: 5346228
Abstract: A soccer ball goal facilitates practice of kicking drills and play of a soccer ball game by a reduced number of players. The soccer ball goal comprises a hoop having a circular aperture large enough to admit passage of a soccer ball. A backboard has a front face which at least as large as the circular aperture of the hoop. A frame rigidly connects the hoop to the backboard. The frame is adapted to maintain the hoop in a position which is in front of the backboard front face, parallel to the backboard front face, and at predetermined distance from the backboard front face. A playing surface engaging means maintains the backboard substantially perpendicular to the playing surface. A ricochet board can be positioned to facilitate rebounded shots into the soccer ball goal.

  • Patent number: 5080355
Abstract: A corner basketball hoop support facilitates playing of basketball in a small indoor area. In particular, a basketball hoop device is comprised of a three-sided triangular rim and leg members. The legs members are attached to the triangular rim at their lower ends and to a basketball rim above the triangular rim at their upper ends. Also an inverted J-shaped rod, a backboard, a bracket, and straight support members form a basketball hoop device. The inverted J-shaped rod has a longer portion, secured to the corner of a room, while the shorter portion extends out from the corner and is secured to the posterior surface of a backboard. The backboard also has outer edges which are wedged securely against the corner walls for support. A bracket with supporting members is attached to the anterior surface of the backboard to support a basketball hoop.

  • Patent number: 4715600
Abstract: A basketball game for mounting on a conventional door, in which a backboard and rim are height adjustable relative to the face of the door. A pair of U-shaped brackets receive the top and bottom edge of the door and a vertical pole is mounted between the brackets. The brackets are tightenable relative to one another for rigidly holding the apparatus to the door. The one U-shaped bracket located at the top edge of the door includes a relatively thin L-shaped metal member and a relatively thick front member. The L-shaped member has a first leg for seating against the backside of the door and a second leg for seating against the top edge of the door. The thick front member has a first face for seating against front face of the door and a second top face for abutting a portion of the second leg of the L-shaped member. A screw secures the second leg to the second top face of the front member.

  • Patent number: 4657249
Abstract: The basketball goal support of the present invention need not include the traditional backboard. Rather, this goal support includes a generally U-shaped anchor attachable to a door or similar structure. A hollow cylindrically shaped receptacle is fixed to the anchor for receiving a support tube in close fit within the receptacle. The support tube supports the basketball goal.

  • Patent number: 4595199
Abstract: A basketball goal apparatus having a hoop and net goal supported in a plane parallel to the floor by four legs depending from the goal. Four net standards are secured to respective legs at a point spaced below the plane of the goal and extend upwardly at an angle through said plane to a point spaced above the goal for supporting a netting. The netting is disposed in three orthogonal side planes defined by the ends of the standards and surround the rim. A ball return platform positioned beneath the goal is tilted with respect to normal for returning the ball to the player.
