The closure mechanism includes a pair of interlocking members extending from a first surface of a first base member that are parallel to each other with a space therebetween. The pair of interlocking members has constant profiles between opposite ends. A plurality of partial indentations extends longitudinally along a second surface of the first base member at positions opposite to the space between the pair of interlocking members. A pair of interlocking members extends from a surface of a second base member and are parallel to each other with a space therebetween. The pair of interlocking members each has constant profiles between opposite ends. The pair of interlocking members extending from the first base member are configured to interlock with the pair of interlocking members extending from the second base member, in order to resealably close the mouth.

Abstract: A reclosable pouch includes a body portion having first and second opposing sidewalls and a first web having a first portion attached to the first sidewall and a first unattached portion. The first web is disposed on an internal side of the first sidewall. The reclosable pouch further includes a second web having a second portion attached to the second sidewall and a second unattached portion. The second web is disposed on an internal side of the second sidewall. Additionally, the reclosable pouch includes a first closure mechanism having first and second closure profiles with the first closure profile disposed on the first web at the first attached portion and the second closure profile disposed on the second web at the second attached portion.

The first segments have larger cross-sections and shorter lengths than the second segments such that interlocking the groove and rib profiles creates the audible clicking sound when the groove and rib profiles are engaged.

Abstract: A reclosable storage bag and zipper tape for use in conjunction with same is disclosed. The reclosable bag includes first and second panels which are sealed about bottom, left, and right edges leaving an open top. The closure system further includes first and second closure assemblies or zippers which can be individually or simultaneously closed to seal the contents within the bag. Even after the first and second zippers are engaged thereby closing the bag, excess air within the bag can be removed simply be manually compressing the bag and thereby forcing the air through the vent apertures provided between the zippers. A valve internal to the closure system may be provided proximate the vent apertures and open upon sufficient application of pressure thereby allowing for air to be evacuated from the bag.
