  • Patent number: 6726255
Abstract: A tube-in-tube joint includes a rectangular coupling having a longitudinally extending slot the entire length of the coupling which is inserted into opposed ends of two rectangular elongated tube members. Each elongated tube member is provided with an opening therein to receive a bolt therethrough, preferably a carriage bolt, wherein a squared shoulder portion adjacent the head of the carriage bolt fits within the slot of the coupling and the bolt opening. Alternatively, socket head cap screws extend through the bolt openings in the elongated tubes and the coupling slot receives T-nuts which are held in place in the longitudinally extending slot.

  • Patent number: 6131429
Abstract: A safety device for use on a press brake for forming a part between a die mounted on a lower frame of the press brake and a punch mounted on a moveable ram of the press brake. The safety device includes a gate pivotably mounted to the ram and a sensor mounted to the gate. The gate is pivotable between a guarded position and a retracted position, wherein the gate is in the guarded position when the punch is more than a preselected distance from the die, and wherein the gate is in the retracted position when the punch is less than the preselected distance from the die. The sensor is electrically connected to the press brake to suspend operation of the press brake upon actuation of the sensor when the gate is in the guarded position.

  • Patent number: 5186981
Abstract: A coated roller for transportation and stretching of plastic film web during load unitization, and a process for preparation of the coated roller. A cylindrical metallic roller core is pitted by blasting, then primed, heated and immersed in a room-temperature liquid plastisol comprising vinyl particles dissolved in a plasticizer. The plastisol accumulates on the hot metal to a depth determined by immersion time. After removal, curing and cooling the coated core is machined by lathe to expose a cellular infrastructure and achieve a cylindrical coating coaxial with the core. The coated roller exhibits superior durability, resistance to tackifier additive buildup, and resistance to circumferential web slippage during web stretch between two rollers in a film path from a supply roll to a load being wrapped.

  • Patent number: 4333255
Abstract: Advertising display apparatus including an endless carrier mounting a plurality of display panels such that the leading and trailing edge portion of the panels overlap the adjacent trailing and leading edge portions of adjacent leading and trailing panels, respectively, and curvilinear guide mechanism for guiding the leading and trailing edge portions of the panels out of the planes of the panels to maintain the edge portions of the panels in overlapping relation as the panels negotiate a curvilinear path portion.

  • Patent number: 4033606
Abstract: An equalized suspension system is provided for the truck of a truck-trailer combination of the tandem axle type. The suspension on each side of the vehicle includes independent semi-elliptic leaf springs mounted in tandem relationship one behind the other, and which are respectively connected at their midpoint to the forward and rearward axles. The remote ends of each spring are supported in rolling contact with respective roller assemblies housed by respective brackets which, in turn, are secured to the frame of the truck. An equalizer support bracket is provided between the adjacent ends of each pair of springs and an equalizer is pivotally supported within each equalizer support bracket. The adjacent ends of the springs are pivotally attached to shackles which, in turn, are pivotally mounted to the respective equalizers.
