  • Publication number: 20090177499
Abstract: A system for and method of determining insurance claim losses. The method is comprised of inputting a claim loss item into a remote computational device. The claim loss item is communicated to a claims server, where a data source is searched for comparable items. The data source can be a local database or online sources such as an Internet URL and can return one or more exemplary items. The search for the exemplary items can incorporate filters. The exemplary items are displayed for an adjustor to select the item. The information associated with the exemplar item is stored for later display and report generation. A report can be generated displaying all of the information about the selected items.

  • Patent number: 7407510
Abstract: A coating for an orbital implant where the coating has an anterior portion having a different, longer term bioabsorbability than a posterior portion. This allows the implant to have a smooth surface for insertion and to provide reduced irritation to neighboring tissues, to help prevent exposure of the porous core of the implant, and to provide a stable anchorment for extraocular muscles, but which also encourages rapid fibrovascular ingrowth. The coating is marked with a visual indicator to facilitate proper orientation. Shell materials are further selected to allow for sterile packaging, the securing of therapeutic agents thereon, and to provide adequately strong securing of the coating to the core. Apertures are formed through the coating to enhance fluid flow to and from the core, and to provide exposure of the surface of the core to extraocular muscles, and for sutures. The apertures are sized and shaped to reduce irritating surface contact with orbital tissues.

  • Publication number: 20070067725
Abstract: A process control system within a process plant and, in particular, different devices and applications within the process control system such as field devices, controllers, user interfaces, alarm applications, diagnostics applications, etc. create, store and make data generated therein available using a really simple syndication (RSS) XML communication format, thereby making this data easily retrievable from the plant and useable for various purposes both within and outside of the plant. The RSS data communications may provide RSS data for use in control of the plant or for use in other applications not directly associated with the control of the plant, including third party applications run on devices outside of the plant, such as personal data assistants, pagers, phones, laptop computers, etc.

  • Publication number: 20050128490
Abstract: This invention is an apparatus for imaging metrology, which in particular embodiments may be integrated with a processor station such that a metrology station is apart from but coupled to a process station. The metrology station is provided with a first imaging camera with a first field of view containing the measurement region. Alternate embodiments include a second imaging camera with a second field of view. Preferred embodiments comprise a broadband ultraviolet light source, although other embodiments may have a visible or near infrared light source of broad or narrow optical bandwidth. Embodiments including a broad bandwidth source typically include a spectrograph, or an imaging spectrograph. Particular embodiments may include curved, reflective optics or a measurement region wetted by a liquid. In a typical embodiment, the metrology station and the measurement region are configured to have 4 degrees of freedom of movement relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 6880208
Abstract: A tether based connector for locating, identifying, inventorying, controlling and helping to ensure the retrieval of one or more items packaged within a container loaded with potentially obscuring packaging materials. The connector is formed from a stratified body having a die-cut upper sheet layer to form one or more extractable tethers, each of which terminates at a fastener at one end for releasably fastening to an item, and at an easily located terminus at the other end. The terminus may be formed as an anchorment for anchoring to the container. A single anchorment may be adapted to serve a plurality of tethers for fastening to a plurality of items. A badge carrying item identifying information can be associated with a connector.

  • Patent number: 6239617
Abstract: A mixed voltage output driver includes an output sensing circuit that senses an output voltage at an output terminal and generates a voltage signal that corresponds to a voltage level at the output terminal. Next, an impedance selection circuit receives the voltage signal and generates a control signal in response to the output voltage having a higher logical uplevel than the mixed voltage output driver. The control signal is then received by an adjustable drive impedance circuit that is also coupled to an input terminal of the mixed voltage output driver and, in response thereto, the adjustable drive impedance circuit modifies an output drive impedance of the mixed voltage output driver. In another advantageous embodiment, the mixed voltage output driver only determines if the output voltage at the output terminal is at a logical uplevel before adjusting the output drive impedance.

  • Patent number: 6222413
Abstract: An improved net driver circuit is provided. The net driver circuit includes a control circuit. A bi-directional input/output (I/O) circuit is coupled to the control circuit. The bi-directional input/output (I/O) circuit includes a receiver and a driver. The control circuit monitors the net and responsive to a new changed state of the net being identified, the control circuit enables the driver to drive the net to the new changed state. The receiver senses the current state of the net and the control circuit remembers the previous state of the net. When the net state is the same as the previous state, the control circuit causes the driver to be in a high impedance state.
