  • Patent number: 7156329
Abstract: An apparatus for bone milling includes a housing defining a first opening, a second opening, a third opening, and a linear passage from the first opening to the second opening. The bone mill further includes a rotatable grinding member, wherein the rotatable grinding member has a substantially cylindrical, rod-like shape, with at least a portion of the rotatable grinding member substantially filling or occluding a portion of the linear passage. An actuator element is coupled through the third opening to the rotatable grinding member, and a receptacle is removably coupled to the second opening for retaining the milled material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 2004
Date of Patent: January 2, 2007
    Assignee: Medical Innovators, Inc.
Inventors: James Scott Hay, James Carnation, Brian Wieder, Adrian Panther
  • Publication number: 20060138260
Abstract: An apparatus for bone milling includes a housing defining a first opening, a second opening opposite the first opening, and a linear passage from the first opening to the second opening. The linear passage has a first surface with third opening there through and a second surface transverse to the first surface. A rotatable cutting member is insertable through the third opening to partially block the linear passage. The rotatable cutting member is positioned at a distance from the second surface of the linear passage corresponding to a predetermined bone chip size.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 28, 2006
    Publication date: June 29, 2006
Inventors: James Hay, James Carnation, Brian Wieder, Adrian Panther, Ryan Singh
