  • Publication number: 20190114921
Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to acquiring remote sensor data and identifying occluded objects from the remote sensor data. In one embodiment, a method includes acquiring, within a vehicle from one or more remote sensors, remote sensor data that indicates information about a nearby environment of the vehicle. The method includes identifying an occluded object in the surrounding environment according to the remote sensor data, and local sensor data generated by the vehicle. The occluded object is obscured from being perceived by one or more vehicle sensors of the vehicle. The local sensor data indicates information about at least nearby objects that have been observed by the vehicle sensors. The method includes rendering, within the display of the vehicle, a visualization of the occluded object to provide a view of the occluded object when the occluded object is otherwise obscured from being perceived by the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190094040
Abstract: System, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to improving situational awareness of occupants of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes analyzing, using at least a processor of the vehicle, scan data from a sensor of the vehicle to detect at least one object within the surrounding environment. The method includes converting the scan data into converted data that represents the at least one object with a reduced quantity of data. The method includes rendering, using the converted data, at least one graphic that is a visual representation of the at least one object. The method includes displaying the at least one graphic within a display of the vehicle at a location within the display that represents a location of the at least one object relative to the vehicle in the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 10205428
Abstract: A method and device for variable audible-alerts based on a vehicle environment are disclosed, in which vehicle sensor data relating to a vehicle environment may be received and processed to produce vehicle-environment recognition data. Audible alert data is selected from a plurality of audible alert data corresponding to the vehicle-environment recognition data, from which a command message is generated based on the audible alert data. The command message is transmitted to effect an audible alert via an audible device.
