  • Patent number: 6037318
Abstract: An improved process for the manufacture of alkaline bleaching compositions, especially liquid and/or gel compositions of high solubility and low abrasiveness, useful to the consumer, especially as products for hard surface cleaning, bleaching or disinfectancy. The products are made by a three-stage process and comprise particular chlorine and bromine bleach sources and particular aminofunctional materials such as low-impurity sulfamate.

  • Patent number: 6008181
Abstract: Mid-chain branched primary alkyl alkoxylated sulfate surfactants useful in laundry and cleaning compositions, especially granular and liquid detergent compositions. These surfactant mixtures are also suitable for formulation with other surfactants for the purpose of providing improved surfactant systems, especially for use in detergent compositions which will be used in laundry processes involving low water temperature wash conditions. The present invention also relates to novel mid-chain branched primary alkyl alkoxylated sulfate surfactants suitable for use in the surfactant mixtures.

  • Patent number: 5904161
Abstract: Cleaning compositions, particularly automatic dishwashing detergent compositions, comprising a stability-enhanced amylase and bleach-improving materials are provided. More specifically, the invention relates to granular automatic dishwashing detergents which provide enhanced cleaning/bleaching benefits. The automatic dishwashing compositions comprise stability-enhanced amylase enzymes and one or more bleach-improving compounds, such as organic peroxides, quaternary substituted bleach activators, quaternary substituted peracids and manganese or iron bleach catalysts.

  • Patent number: 5753138
Abstract: Bleaching detergent compositions comprising particular bleach activators are provided. Excellent bleaching is secured through the selection of bleach activators which operate successfully under mildly alkaline washing conditions or in the presence of reduced levels of hydrogen peroxide.

  • Patent number: 5710116
Abstract: Bleach boosters comprising zwitterionic imines and anionic imine polyions having a net negative charge are disclosed. The bleach boosters increase bleaching effectiveness in lower temperature solutions and demonstrate superior color safety profiles. The bleach boosters are ideally suited for inclusion into bleaching compositions including those with detersive surfactants and enzymes. Also provided is a laundry additive product including zwitterionic imines and anionic imine polyions with a net negative charge as bleach boosters. A method for laundering a fabric employing the bleach boosters of the present invention is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5698046
Abstract: Automatic dishwashing detergents containing N-alkoxy or N-aryloxy polyhydroxy fatty acid amide surfactants which provide not only improved cleaning, but also improved filming and spotting performance on tableware are described. Thus, C.sub.12 -C.sub.14 N-(3-methoxypropyl) glucamide is used in automatic dishwashing compositions which, optionally, can be formulated to be free from chlorine bleach or phosphate builders. Weak builders such as citrate and perborate or percarbonate bleach can be used in the compositions, as can various detersive enzymes.
