  • Publication number: 20230420623
Abstract: Disclosed is a unit pixel of a microdisplay having a concave reflector with a center aperture. The light extractor has a protrusion and a bulk portion formed using the same epitaxial growth process. The concave reflector with a center aperture is formed on the protrusion, and epitaxial growth of the light-emitting body is made through the aperture concave reflector. In addition, the light rays reflected by the concave reflector with a center aperture has exit angles that are nearly perpendicular to the exit surface and are thus easily emitted to the outside.

  • Patent number: 11251167
Abstract: Disclosed are multi-junction light emitting diode (LED) formed by using eutectic bonding and method of manufacturing the multi-junction LED. The multi-junction LED is formed by stacking a separately formed light emitting structure on another light emitting structure by using eutectic bonding. Since separately grown light emitting structure is stacked on the light emitting structure using the eutectic metal alloy bonding, it is possible to prevent crystal defects occurring between the light emitting structures when sequentially grown. Further, since the eutectic metal alloy can be formed in various patterns, it is possible to control and optimize adhesive strength, transmittance of the light generated in the upper light emitting structure, and resistance.

  • Patent number: 11152537
Abstract: A light emitting diode having multiple tunnel junctions is provided. This comprises the common contact layer, the first and second tunnel junction layers respectively disposed on the bottom surface and the upper surface of the common contact layer, the first light emitting structure disposed on the bottom surface of the first tunnel junction layer and the second light emitting structure disposed on the upper surface of the second tunnel junction layer. Light emitting structures emitting blue and green light may be disposed above and below the common contact layer. By injecting holes into the first light emitting structure and the second light emitting structure through the common contact layer formed of the n-type semiconductor, current spreading effect is improved, leading to improved light emitting efficiency. Since the n-type semiconductor layer can be disposed on the upper surface exposed to the outside, risk of damage occurring in subsequent fabrication steps can be reduced.
