  • Publication number: 20170330553
Abstract: In a method for transmit beamforming of a two-dimensional array of ultrasonic transducers, a beamforming pattern to apply to a beamforming space of the two-dimensional array of ultrasonic transducers is defined. The beamforming space includes a plurality of elements, where each element of the beamforming space corresponds to an ultrasonic transducer of the two-dimensional array of ultrasonic transducers, where the beamforming pattern identifies which ultrasonic transducers within the beamforming space are activated during a transmit operation of the two-dimensional array of ultrasonic transducers, and wherein at least some of the ultrasonic transducers that are activated are phase delayed with respect to other ultrasonic transducers that are activated. The beamforming pattern is applied to the two-dimensional array of ultrasonic transducers. A transmit operation is performed by activating the ultrasonic transducers of the beamforming space according to the beamforming pattern.

  • Publication number: 20170195854
Abstract: Human behavior may be predicted by building a model of people's physical movements along with a model that represents their affinities to various ontological elements, and their relationships to other people. The model may include a graph of interrelated people, as well as their hobbies, interests, employment, and other elements. The model may be analyzed by simulating people's activities as those activities interact with real or hypothetical networks. The real networks may be used to verify the model by comparing measured parameters to predictive parameters derived from simulation to calibrate the models. A calibrated model may then be used with a modified or hypothetical network to analyze the effects of changes to the real network.

  • Publication number: 20160379141
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for automatically detecting, tracking, and validating transit journeys are provided. A transit data processing engine receives sensory data gathered by a plurality of sensors of a mobile device registered for automatic tracking of transit journeys and detects, based on transit data of one or more transit agencies and a first set of the sensory data, a potential transit event with the one or more transit agencies. Based on the transit data and a second set of the sensory data, received subsequently to the first set of the sensory data, the processing engine determines then whether the potential transit event defines a transit journey having a starting point with the one or more transit agencies. If the potential transit event defines the transit journey, the transit data processing engine continues to analyse the sensory data being received to detect an ending point of the transit journey.
