  • Patent number: 10670475
Abstract: A method for determining change in temperature of an electromagnetically radiating device between un-energized and energized states without contacting the device is disclosed. The method includes establishing a reference image form the device by illuminating the device with an optical signal having a first optical characteristic and capturing the reference image from the device in an un-energized state, establishing an on image form the device by illuminating the device in an energized state, and establishing a modified on image form the device by illuminating the device in the energized state with a modified optical signal having a third illuminating optical characteristic, and comparing the reference image, the on image, and the modified on image to establish changes in reflection as a result of changes in temperature of the device during energization.

  • Publication number: 20170290723
Abstract: A seating system, particularly suited for personal mobility vehicles, such as wheelchairs, includes a seat cushion having pressure relieving properties and enhanced thermal conduction properties. The seat cushion includes a thixotropic fluid contained within a flexible envelope. The thixotropic fluid includes nanoparticles that enhance the thermal conduction properties of the seat cushion to increase heat transfer from a seated user to provide a reduced temperature sensory effect.

  • Publication number: 20080079306
Abstract: A wheelchair seat cushion has multi-density regions. The cushion assembly may have a region having a stiffer, higher density proximate the front of the seat cushion assembly beneath the user's thighs to assist the user in exiting the wheelchair. Alternatively, or additionally, an insert member having multi-density regions may be received in a recess in a base member. The insert members may be oriented in different orientations to position a softer, less dense region at different locations, to situate the softer, less dense region of the insert beneath a particular user's ischial tuberosities and/or coccyx.

  • Patent number: 7173245
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for non-contact thermal measurement which are capable of providing sub micron surface thermal characterization of samples, such as active semiconductor devices. The method obtains thermal image information by reflecting a light from a surface of a device in synchronous with the modulation of the thermal excitation and then acquiring and processing an AC-coupled thermoreflective image. The method may be utilized for making measurements using different positioning techniques, such as point measurements, surface scanning, two-dimensional imaging, and combinations thereof. A superresolution method is also described for increasing the resultant image resolution, based on multiple images with fractional pixel offsets, without the need to increase the resolution of the image detectors being utilized.

  • Publication number: 20060091706
Abstract: A seat assembly can be mounted on various wheelchair bases. The seat assembly enables the seat width and backrest width to be adjusted independently of each other. A backrest has a plurality of open slots, the number and orientation of which contributes to depth, width, and height adjustment of the backrest as well as angular adjustment of lateral supports to permit the backrest to conform to the anatomical curves of a user. A backrest foam assembly comprises multiple foam sections that are adapted to be positioned relative to each other and thereby vary the overall width of the assembly. A cover comprises multiple sections, each covering a foam section. A multi-position adjustable armrest assembly combines large-scale and small-scale adjustments, which provides a broad range of adjustment for the armrest and its position. A power recline mechanism with programmable shear reduction includes a dual rotary recline mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20060059498
Abstract: A system to pre-process a raw data stream of structured data from a new data source for input to interactive software applications. The terminal emulation program for the interactive application is modified to identify the raw data stream from the new data source, and to provide entry points for transmitting data to the application and for retrieving an input screen and current cursor position. These entry points are used by a processing module, which receives the identified raw data stream from the emulation program, processes the raw data stream in accordance with a definition file, which contains a mapping of the raw data stream of structured data to input data fields on input screens of the interactive application. The definition file also indicates how to navigate between input screens. The processing module then populates the input data fields on their respective input screens, via the terminal emulation program.

  • Publication number: 20050066445
Abstract: A seat cushion includes a cushion base, a pressure-distributing medium, and a cover. The base supports the pressure-distributing medium. The cover has a pocket for receiving the pressure-distributing medium and covers the base and the pressure-distributing medium therein. A method for carrying the pressure-distributing medium in a personal mobility vehicle cushion comprises the steps of providing a cushion cover having a pocket, inserting a pressure-distributing medium in the pocket, and inserting a base in the cover so that the pressure-distributing medium is positioned above the base.
