  • Publication number: 20090234152
Abstract: A process for hydrogenating benzenepolycarboxylic acids or derivatives thereof, such as esters and/or anhydrides, by bringing one or more benzenepolycarboxylic acids or one or more derivatives thereof into contact with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of one or more catalytically active metal, such as platinum, palladium ruthenium or mixtures thereof, deposited on a catalyst support comprising one or more ordered mesoporous materials.

  • Patent number: 7585808
Abstract: The present invention is directed to processes for preparing supported metal catalysts comprising one or more catalytically active metals applied to a porous catalyst support and to processes that use such catalysts. The process requires the formation of an organic complex during the manufacture of the catalyst which after its formation is either partially or fully decomposed before reduction if the metal to form the catalyst. The catalysts have high levels of metal dispersion and uniform distribution of catalytically active metals on the support. The catalysts obtained form the processes are particularly effective in catalysing Fischer-Tropsch reactions and as adsorbants for the removal or organosulfur compounds from hydrocarbons.

  • Publication number: 20090182659
Abstract: The invention relates to an auction like bidding process establishing the value of an asset; the sale of the asset going to whomever pays first. This differs from the established auction protocol where the seller is obliged to pass the asset to the highest bidder. With this method, the seller's contractual obligation does not limit the seller to transferring ownership rights to the participants in the bidding process.

  • Patent number: 7519512
Abstract: A method for dynamic blind signal separation generates initialisation information by processing an immediately preceding data window. This information is input at (21) and used at (22) to initialize orthogonality of data in an immediately following window. Initialised data are decorrelated at (23) with small update angles using a Jacobi technique. Steps (22) and (23) are collectively a second order stage of processing in statistical terms producing orthonormal signals. The orthonormal signals are initialized at (25) and then undergo separation at (27) by ICA with small angle updates using statistics higher than second order to produce separated signals. The method may be implemented in an acquisition phase to separate signals and among them identify desired signals, and a subsequent phase in which only the desired signals are separated.

  • Publication number: 20080281904
Abstract: Embodiments of a service listing system for open source software projects are described. A plurality of available open source projects are stored in a centralized or distributed database system. Each open source project comprises one or more software programs. Third party support and maintenance services may be provided by third parties service providers. The service listing system associates one or more service listings from service providers with appropriate open source projects. The service listing includes contact information for the service provider, and a schedule of provided services and products, and fees, if applicable. Service listings can be associated with projects based on a specific identification of projects or a definition of categories or types of projects. The system includes an integrated search engine that allows project users to find services based on specific projects or specific services that are available.

  • Patent number: 7237034
Abstract: An intermediary node on a data communications network implements a flow control algorithm to control network congestion. The intermediary node receives messages destined for servers or other upstream nodes from clients or other downstream nodes and determines whether to forward the messages based on the flow control algorithm, which may be adaptive. The algorithm may consider explicit back-off messages received from upstream nodes, failure of upstream nodes to respond to messages forwarded by the intermediary node, and/or other criteria. When a back-off condition applies, the intermediary node refrains from forwarding messages it receives and sends back-off messages to nodes initiating the messages. Back-off messages may include a back-of time period and/or other back-off criteria.

  • Publication number: 20070027938
Abstract: The present invention provides a device, method, and system for efficiently converting data into a common format, detecting changes, and updating a stored copy of data with the detected changes. The system walks through a snapshot set of data and a source set and data and compares key values and associated stored data. The system may detect rows that have modified data but have not been added or deleted. The system may detect a new or a deleted record or data source rows by examining the key values of the snapshot data record and the key values of the source data record.

  • Patent number: 7099917
Abstract: The invention provides a method of using a communications device to access an on-line service provided by a network server. In one embodiment of the invention, a mobile telephone is used to establish a connection with a proxy server. The mobile telephone is then used to establish a second connection with a network server on which hypermedia information is stored. The second connection is a secure end-to-end connection which may be achieved by either tunneling through the proxy server or by bypassing it entirely. The second connection is used to send a secure request for hypermedia information to the network server. If it is determined that, in order to service the request, additional information is required, then the mobile telephone is notified and a service capable of providing the additional information is accessed remotely in the proxy server by sending a communication to the proxy server via the first connection.
