  • Patent number: 9702992
Abstract: In one aspect, an apparatus is disclosed comprising: a housing; a proof mass movable within the housing; an optical element mounted on one of the housing and the proof mass; a reflective element on the other one of the housing and the proof mass; a light source configured to illuminate grating and minor; and one or more detectors configured to detect light incident from the reflective element and the diffractive element and generate a signal indicative of the relative displacement of proof mass and the housing.

  • Publication number: 20170081531
Abstract: Ink compositions comprising a carrier and an inorganic particulate additive are described. The ink composition comprises a liquid carrier and an inorganic particulate additive, wherein bleeding of the additive into a fount solution in offset printing is reduced. The inorganic particulate additive has a washout factor, representing the extent of bleeding in offset printing use, of less than about 0.70.

  • Patent number: 9353571
Abstract: A paint can support box adapted to surround and selectively seal a paint can. A hinged top with a seal is affixed to the box and is movable between an open and a closed position. A mounting system attaches the box to rungs of a ladder. A retaining pin prevents the mounting system from inadvertently becoming detached from the ladder rungs. The box is swivelably attached to the mounting system so that the box remains level regardless of the lean angle of the ladder. The box and its contents may be left on the ladder when the ladder is moved to a new location without risk of paint spilling or the apparatus becoming detached from the ladder. Caulk tubes may also be stored and retained within the box. Multiple size paint cans (e.g. gallon, quart, etc.) may be securely accommodated and sealed with appropriate can adapters.

  • Publication number: 20160056642
Abstract: A power delivery rate from a renewable power source to a load is managed by determining, by processing circuitry, a change in a power generation rate, determining, by the processing circuitry, whether the change in the power generation rate exceeds a limit, and then, adjusting, by control circuitry, a power transfer rate to or from a power storage device, such that the adjusting is sufficient to prevent the power delivery rate from exceeding the limit.

  • Publication number: 20140200170
Abstract: A general purpose detail cleaning solution contains a blend of chemicals in one solution to remove water spots, swirls, dust and fingerprints in existing waxes, polishes and sealants, and revitalize paint. The solution will preferably be available in both squeeze bottles and spray bottles. The user sprays one section of the vehicle at a time, and gently spreads the solution over the entire surface of the vehicle section using a folded microfiber towel. The user then flips over the microfiber towel to reveal a dry section of the towel, and buffs the vehicle section until it is dry. This process is repeated until the entire vehicle has been detail cleaned.

  • Patent number: 8650866
Abstract: An exhaust insert for use with an internal combustion engine transfers heat from exhaust gases to a liquid-cooled exhaust manifold. One end of the exhaust insert extends into the exhaust port of a cylinder head, and the other end of the exhaust insert extends into an exhaust manifold. Exhaust gases are received from the cylinder head by the exhaust manifold through the exhaust insert. The exhaust insert is in contact with a surface of the exhaust manifold so as to transfer heat from the exhaust gases away from the cylinder head to the exhaust manifold.

  • Publication number: 20070219828
Abstract: A system and method which considers information such as amounts in one or more healthcare accounts of a consumer, limitations of a healthcare plan under which the consumer is covered, relevant tax rates for the consumer, rate(s) of return on investment for out-of-pocket fund(s) of the consumer, and rate(s) of return on investment for healthcare spending account(s) of the consumer to evaluate and inform the consumer how the consumer should spend the amounts in their healthcare accounts and/or out-of-pockets accounts to meet to-be-paid costs associated with a healthcare bill.

  • Patent number: 4089594
Abstract: A sun screen structure is disclosed which consists of a covering for external building surfaces that reflect sunlight during summer months and admit it during winter months to help stabilize internal building temperatures. The covering consists of a planar array of short focal length optical lenses. A pattern of light-reflective and light-transmissive surfaces is located at the focal plane of each lens in the array. The lenses project the rays of the sun onto the reflective or transmissive surfaces, depending on the angle of elevation of the rays with respect to the horizon. The reflective surfaces are located so that the rays are reflected away from the building during the summer months. The transmissive surfaces are located so that the rays are transmitted towards the building interior during the winter months.
