  • Publication number: 20150323293
Abstract: The invention is a gradient ballistic material and honeycomb grille that includes a louver system and a honeycomb structure. The louver system contains a gradient of ballistic materials to improve air handling and protection. The louver system may be constructed of one or more pieces of ballistic material so that at least one section is harder than a second section. The honeycomb structure acts a “catcher” or backstop to collect the fragments created by a projectiles contact with the harder section of the louver system.

  • Publication number: 20150283375
Abstract: A method for fabricating an implantable medical electrode includes roughening the electrode substrate, applying an adhesion layer, and depositing a valve metal oxide coating over the adhesion layer under conditions optimized to minimize electrode impedance and post-pulse polarization. The electrode substrate may be a variety of electrode metals or alloys including titanium, platinum, platinum-iridium, or niobium. The adhesion layer may be formed of titanium or zirconium. The valve metal oxide coating is a ruthenium oxide coating sputtered onto the adhesion layer under controlled target power, sputtering pressure, and sputter gas ratio setting optimized to minimize electrode impedance and post-pulse polarization.

  • Patent number: 9089465
Abstract: A gantry system supports a human user in a harness attached to a carriage on a track. The carriage may comprise a body defining a U-shaped or C-shaped opening sized to receive a cylindrical track, and a pair of wheels attached to the body that roll along a top portion of the track with sufficiently minimal drag to permit the user to move the carriage without assistance. Single track embodiments may have a straight or curved trajectory and may have intersecting track portions with junctions that move between the intersecting track portions. In other embodiments, the carriage traverses a perpendicular track spanning a pair of parallel tracks. The perpendicular track may traverse the parallel tracks with or without motorized assistance. A counterweight system may provide partial weight support for the user. In one embodiment, the tracks are supported by a collapsible free-standing structure.

  • Publication number: 20140108647
Abstract: A system according to the preferred embodiments of the present invention utilizes performance monitoring tools on the network infrastructure and servers of a VDI environment to provide a performance indication to each user, based on his network path and his servers. The user may also provide feedback, such as a rating from one to five, of the performance of each of his applications. Ratings of other users may be provided to each user to provide additional performance indications. The ratings of the users may also be used by IT staff in conjunction with the network and server metrics to troubleshoot problem areas and to assist in planning future environments. The user feedback or rating can be used in other areas as well to allow improvement of the delivery of services.
