  • Publication number: 20160269132
Abstract: A controllable antenna system is disclosed. The system comprises a directional antenna configured to be directed in a selected direction. A radio frequency detector is configured to measure a power level of a signal. A control unit is configured to send a control signal to direct a directional antenna in a selected direction based on the measured power level to transmit or receive. A signal booster may be configured to reduce attenuation and/or increase signal quality of the signal.

  • Patent number: 9065415
Abstract: A method of configuring a signal booster may include receiving an indication that a first interface port of a first amplifier is configured such that external signals are not introduced to the first amplifier and measuring thermal noise output by the first amplifier at a second amplifier communicatively coupled to a second interface port of the first amplifier after receiving the indication. The method may further include determining signal loss between the first amplifier and the second amplifier based on the measured thermal noise and setting a gain of the second amplifier based on the signal loss.

  • Publication number: 20150029909
Abstract: A signal booster may include first and second uplink gain units each configured to apply an uplink gain to an uplink signal. The signal booster may further include first and second downlink gain units each configured to apply a downlink gain to a downlink signal. The signal booster may also include a passive signal directing unit configured to communicatively couple the first uplink gain unit to the second uplink gain unit and to communicatively couple the first downlink gain unit to the second downlink gain unit.

  • Patent number: 8909132
Abstract: According to some embodiments described herein, a bi-directional amplifier may include a first interface port configured to receive a first signal. The bi-directional amplifier may also include a second interface port. The second interface port may be communicatively coupled to the first interface port and may be configured to receive a second signal. The second interface port may be communicatively coupled to the first interface port such that the first signal propagates from the first interface port to the second interface port and such that the second signal propagates from the second interface port to the first interface port. The bi-directional amplifier may also include a common amplifier communicatively coupled between the first interface port and the second interface port such that the common amplifier is configured to receive and amplify both the first signal and the second signal.
