  • Patent number: 10069738
Abstract: A single cellular radio is enabled to support multiple phone lines and data service. The system can be split into two parts: a telephone adapter that receives input from one or more phone lines, and a wireless hot spot communicably coupled to one or more telephone adapters that transmits communications associated with the phone lines and data service to the mobile network. The telephone adapter can include phone jacks, WiFi, and LAN connections and also some traffic management functionality that routes voice traffic to higher class of services than non-voice data. The wireless hotspot can then map communications with higher classes of service to dedicated bearers with guaranteed bitrates, and the lower classes of service to dedicated bearers with non-guaranteed bitrates or even default bearers.

  • Publication number: 20120315972
Abstract: An interface apparatus for multifunctional gaming platform is provided. The interface apparatus couples a host device featuring a display and a gaming accessory. The host device is configured to generate at least one set of host-data. At least one set of host-data is selected from the group consisting of: a change of color of a display of the host-device; a variation of intensity of color of the display of the host-device; a sequence of flashing patterns generated by the display of the host-device; and a change of a background theme of the display of the host-device. The host data is used to enable the operation of the gaming accessory.

  • Publication number: 20120052933
Abstract: A method of playing a game by a group of players by using a gaming platform is provided. The group of players consists of at least two players. The gaming platform comprises an electronic device coupled to a gaming accessory. The method comprises: (A) selecting a first player from the group of players. The first selected player is called a chooser, wherein each remaining player in the group of players is called a guesser. The method further comprises: (B) the chooser selects a first secret answer to a first posted question; (C) the first secret answer to the first posted question is recorded; (D) at least one guesser places a bet that is configured to correctly guess the recorded first secret answer; and (E) the recorded first secret answer to the first posted question is revealed.

  • Publication number: 20060212746
Abstract: A hierarchical storage system is constructed from file servers and a policy engine server by building upon a file migration service. Offline attributes are added to file system inodes in a primary file server, file system parameters are added in the primary server, an offline read access method field is added to a connection database, and the primary file server is programmed to use these attributes and parameters for selecting a particular method (such as a partial read migration or a pass through read method) for read access to an offline file. In this fashion, the primary file server is provided with flexibility for selecting a particular one of a number of migration methods depending on various conditions, in order to improve the trade-off between the cost of storage and delay in file access.

  • Patent number: 4273170
Abstract: An apparatus trims woodwind instrument reed material for use in bassoons and the like in a precise and efficient manner. A cylindroid section of reed material is attached to the apparatus for rotation about its longitudinal axis. A cam, journalled in parallel relation to the reed material, defines a gradient to be trimmed thereon. The reed material and cam are interlocked for rotation in fixed parallel relation. A reed cutting assembly is pivotally disposed above the reed material and the cam and is movable about the longitudinal axes thereof. The cutting assembly includes a cam follower adjacent the cam and a blade in contacting relation with the reed material. The cutting assembly trims the gradient defined by the cam onto the reed material. The trimming is done by rotating the interlocked reed support and cam assembly about the longitudinal axis of the reed material, while linearly moving the cutting assembly along the longitudinal axis of the reed material.
