  • Publication number: 20160055159
Abstract: A social networking system provides a user with a feed of content items associated with other users connected to the user via the social networking system. Additionally, the social networking system identifies additional content items for presentation to the user and generates groups of additional content items so each group includes content items having a characteristic associated with the group. A scoring function is applied to each group to determine an expected amount of user interaction with content items in the group. Based on the expected amounts of user interaction, a featured content item is selected from each group. When a group of the additional content items is presented, the featured content item is visually distinguished from other content items in the group.

  • Publication number: 20160055532
Abstract: A social networking system provides a user with a feed of content items associated with other users connected to the user via the social networking system. Additionally, the social networking system identifies additional content items having various characteristics to the user. If the user selects an additional content item, further content items having one or more characteristics matching the selected additional content item are identified and presented to the user along with the additional content item. For example, a size of the selected additional content item is increased and the further content items are presented in a smaller size proximate to the selected additional content item.

  • Publication number: 20060190274
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for presenting personalized custom product designs to the customers of a second company. Email content promoting customizable products and containing images of product designs is prepared by the product vendor and supplied to a second company. The second company creates and sends an email containing the content to customers of the second company. If a recipient of the email selects one of the product images presented in the email, an identifier of the selected image and information about the email recipient are forwarded to the product vendor. The received recipient information is incorporated into the selected design to create a customized product design, which is displayed to the recipient for review.

  • Publication number: 20060184418
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and method for generating individualized email communications to customers promoting a second customized product that shares design elements with a previously ordered first customized product. Customer records are searched to identify product promotion candidates. A personalized email order solicitation adapted to display an automatically created image of the matching product is sent to identified candidate customers. The matching product image displayed to the email recipient is created to incorporate design elements of a first product ordered by the recipient and information associated with the recipient such that the email recipient sees a customized second product image.

  • Publication number: 20060184424
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and method for generating personalized email communications soliciting orders of custom products. Product reorder candidates are identified from customer records and a personalized email order solicitation is sent to the customer. The email is adapted to display an image of the customer's previously designed custom product, either exactly as originally designed or, if appropriate, as automatically updated prior to displaying to the user.

  • Publication number: 20050247339
Abstract: A method of operating a solar cell is provided in which strain balanced multiple quantum well stacks containing greater than 30 quantum wells disposed between bulk semi-conductor regions having a band gap differences between the deepest well of the stack and the bulk semi-conducting region of greater than 60 mev is irradiated with radiation having an intensity of greater than 100 suns. Photons are absorbed with and outside of the quantum well stack to generate electron hole pairs recombination of electrons and holes is substantially only via a radiative recombination mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050210704
Abstract: An article of footwear comprises an upper portion which is dimensioned to at least partially enclose a user's foot, a sole portion connected to the upper portion and a solid microwaveable, insole shaped heating pad. The sole portion includes a pocket which is dimensioned for receipt of the heating pad. The article is adapted for removal and insertion of the heating pad by means an openable fastener which connects the upper portion from the sole portion. The invention also relates to a method of heating a foot comprising the step of providing an article of footwear according to the invention, removing the heating pad from the pocket of the article of footwear, heating the heating pad in a microwave for a suitable amount of time, inserting the heating pad into the pocket of the article of footwear and placing the article of footwear onto a users foot.

  • Publication number: 20050167341
Abstract: A screen panel retainer system is useable to retain a plurality of screen panels to a separatory machine. Retainer bars are attached to the screen stringer rails of the separatory machine by an expanding of spaced plugs that are received in holes in the stringer rails. The retainer bars each include a plurality of ears that are receivable in pockets that are situated on the inner faces of screen panel edge strips. A plurality of dams, each of which is securable to the screen edge strip ends of two adjacent screen panels, serve to further secure the screen panels in place. Screen panel removal is easily accomplished and the system is adaptable to various machine configurations.

  • Patent number: 5597532
Abstract: An apparatus for the optoelectronic evaluation of test paper strips for use in the detection of certain analytes in blood or other body fluids. The test strip comprises an elongated plastic part including a hinged portion to allow a first portion to be folded over a second portion. A series of layers of test strips are disposed between the folded over portions of the test strip. The test strip is configured such that the chemistry layers are placed in contacting engagement with one another, but not compressing one another. A reflectance photometer is provided and includes various features, including a lot number reader wherein if the test strip does not match the memory module, a test is not performed, and the user is instructed to insert a correct memory module.
