  • Patent number: 7621278
Abstract: Eye drapes that cover the conjunctiva and reduce the incidence of eye infection are provided. The eye drape has a flexible material and attached thereto a surgical drape. The flexible material is preferably circular with an opening to expose the cornea. The bottom of the flexible material is preferably convex relative to the shape of the eye. The outer diameter of the flexible material is conveniently fits over the ball of the eye. The surgical drape has an opening greater than or equal to the inner diameter and smaller than or equal to the outer diameter of the flexible material. The flexible material is removably fixed to the eye through a vacuum force caused by air expelled from, e.g. (i) a pocket of air in between the flexible material and the eye, (ii) a chamber with openings at the bottom of the flexible material, and/or (iii) a suction device.

  • Patent number: 7385161
Abstract: The resistance of an oxygen sensor heating element is estimated by modeling the effects of physical and electrical heating on the resistance of the heating element lead-in conductors, and subtracting the lead-in conductor resistance from a measure of the heating circuit resistance. The lead-in conductor resistance model is based on the temperature of the oxygen sensor boss and the current carried by the lead-in conductors. The heating element temperature is calculated from the determined heating element resistance and initial (cold-start) parameters of the heating circuit.

Abstract: In order to permit electronic tuning of the frequency of a circuit including dielectric resonators, such as a dielectric resonator filter, tuning plates are employed adjacent the individual dielectric resonators. The tuning plates comprises two separate conductive portions and an electronically tunable element electrically coupled therebetween. The electronically tunable element can be any electronic component that will permit changing the capacitance between the two separate conductive portions of the tuning plates by altering the current or voltage supplied to the electronically tunable element. Such components include virtually any two or three terminal semiconductor device. However, preferable devices include varactor diodes and PIN diodes.

  • Patent number: 7231561
Abstract: A digital tester includes a digital data pattern aligner. The digital data pattern aligner includes an alignment pattern source, a data shifter, and a data comparator. The alignment pattern source sends an alignment pattern to the comparator in a data stream. The comparator samples the data stream and compares the samples to a copy of the alignment pattern. The shifter shifts the data in the data stream so long as the comparator detects no match between a data stream sample and the copy of the alignment pattern. When a match is detected, the pattern source and the comparator are in alignment and other data, such as test patterns, may be sent to the comparator or associated components.

  • Publication number: 20070078751
Abstract: A system for conducting commerce across a distributed network includes a remote consumer computer. A merchant server communicates with the remote consumer computer across an open network to enable purchasing of a product from the remote consumer computer. A financial clearing house server is located within a secured closed network and communicates with the remote consumer computer and the merchant server across the secured closed network. The merchant server creates a merchant ID, receipt ID and transaction total corresponding to a consumer transaction and sends the merchant ID, receipt ID, and transaction ID to the financial clearing house server and the remote consumer computer. The financial clearing house server arranges payment of the transaction in response to a matching merchant ID, receipt ID, and transaction total from the remote consumer computer.
