  • Patent number: 11528102
Abstract: Aspects of the invention include a driver arranged at a stand-alone receiver that is configured to receive a binary sequence from a pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) generator arranged at the receiver. The driver is configured to adjust the signal characteristics of the binary sequence to simulate channel loss at the receiver. The driver is further configured to output the adjusted binary sequence to a downstream data path of the receiver to enable the receiver to perform a self-test.

  • Patent number: 10778586
Abstract: A system for steering network traffic to service functions in a service function chain, the system including: a processor; a data storage module; an input interface; an output interface; a classifier configured to determine a path for a data packet in the service function chain; and a forwarder configured to determine the next location to which the data packet will be sent based on the path. A method for steering network traffic to service functions in a service function chain, the method including: classifying a data packet to determine a path for a data packet in the service function chain; and forwarding the data packet to a next location to which the data packet will be sent based on the path.

  • Patent number: 9075475
Abstract: A method of controlling a portable electronic device includes detecting a touch on a touch-sensitive display, adjusting a first threshold based on detected conditions during the touch, comparing a value related to the touch on the touch-sensitive display to the first threshold, and when the value related to touch meets the first threshold, turning off the display.

  • Patent number: 8797269
Abstract: A method is set forth for automatically adjusting keypad brightness on a mobile electronic device having a light sensor, a keypad and a backlight for the keypad, comprising obtaining light level samples from the light sensor, turning the backlight from off to on in the event a current light level sample is less than a threshold value below which backlight illumination becomes necessary in order to read the keypad, and from off to on after a predetermined time period in the event the current light level sample is greater than the threshold value.

  • Patent number: 8508465
Abstract: A method is set forth for automatically adjusting display brightness on a mobile electronic device having a light sensor, display screen and orientation sensor, for legibility under varying lighting conditions and orientations of the device. The method includes obtaining light level samples from the light sensor, and orientation from the orientation sensor, and adjusting backlight intensity of the display responsive to the light level samples and orientation of the device. Preferably, backlight adjustments are made from dim to bright notwithstanding orientation of the device whereas adjustments from bright to dim are made only for orientations of the device where the light sensor is unlikely to be covered.
