  • Patent number: 9655413
Abstract: A system of attachment surface structures that find their best use in the form of repeatedly removable straps and bands for securing one object to another. The surfaces are preferably constructed of narrow sheets of flexible polymer plastic materials having generally high tensile strength. A first embodiment includes shaped parallel ridges on one surface that interlock with mating parallel ridges on an opposing surface. These parallel ridges may be double sided (interlocking on both sides of each shaped ridge with the next shaped ridge on either side) or single sided (interlocking with a single ridge oriented 180 degrees from the first). Further embodiments include an array of shaped posts of various regular geometric shapes that interlock with an opposing array of identical posts.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8522968
Abstract: A beverage flavoring applicator may have a housing having an internal channel, a cup assembly disposed in the internal channel, the cup assembly having a first cup having a first chamber with a first flavoring substance disposed in the first chamber, a second cup having a second chamber with a second flavoring substance disposed in the second chamber, the first and second cups being nested one within the other, and a plunger slidably engaged with the housing, the plunger having a spike configured to rupture the first and second cups upon movement of the plunger from a first position to a second position with respect to the housing, thereby dispensing the first and second flavoring substances from the applicator. The applicator may engage with a beverage container, either with or without an adapter. Some embodiments may have a bottle opener. Methods of making such applicators and adapters are also described.

  • Patent number: 8196377
Abstract: A safety release for emergency separation from an animal of an affixed harness includes a structural body having formed integral therewith a mechanism for securing the body to a first portion of a riding harness, such as, for example, a bull rope, and a selectively releasable shackle assembly. The shackle assembly is structurally adapted for affixation to a second portion of the riding harness. The mechanism for securing the body to the riding harness comprises a preferably arcuate channel formed in a first, channel end of the body, the channel end of the body being generally opposite a shackle end. The shackle end is adapted to selective receive and secure the shackle assembly to the body.

  • Patent number: 4720636
Abstract: A drop detecting system has light emitting diodes and phototransistors located on either side of a translucent drip chamber. The phototransistors respond to either the shadow or the reflection from a drop falling through a light beam produced by the light emitting diodes. The electrical response from the phototransistors is conducted to an integrator circuit which generates an electrical signal voltage. A comparator circuit receives the electrical signal voltage from the integrator circuit and outputs a signal indicating the presence of a drop passing through the drip chamber. A drip chamber housing cooperates with the drip chamber to shroud the translucent portion of the drip chamber. Additionally the drip chamber housing provides for the mounting of the light emitting diodes and the phototransistors.
