  • Patent number: 7882156
Abstract: An electronic catalog is provided that stores items and attributes associated with the items. One or more of the attributes may have more than one value. Items are stored in an item table with different attributes for items stored in different rows in an attribute table. Additional items may be added to a catalog by adding additional rows to the item table, with attributes related to the additional items added as rows into the attribute table. Particular attributes may have multiple values, and attributes with multiple values are associated with sub-items that correspond to different attribute trees or attribute sets associated with the item. Searching can be performed for attribute values and search results returned indicating all items and sub-items that satisfy the search criteria.

  • Patent number: 6927354
Abstract: An apparatus for tribocharging particles of electrically insulating materials has a rotatable drum (1), made of a metallic material, for containing the particles. The drum has an inlet (11), for charging material, and an outlet (13), for discharging material. The drum further has means (7) for rotating the drum about an axis of rotation, the orientation of the axis of rotation being such that, in operation of the apparatus, the particles tumble against each other and against the walls of the vessel, thereby becoming tribocharged. A fines removal mesh screening means (10) is attached to an outer surface of the drum, allowing fines to escape from the drum. An electrostatic separation tower (20), having tapering walls and at least one pair of electrodes (24) arranged on opposite walls of the tower, is aligned to receive discharged material from the drum. The tower separates the particles, falling from the drum into the tower (20), in an electric field generated between the electrodes (24).

  • Patent number: 6820566
Abstract: An armor-protected buoyancy module is installed in multiple unit sets on tracked or wheeled vehicles to provide the vehicles with amphibious capability. The buoyancy modules can be lifted by two men without additional material handling equipment. The buoyancy modules are attached to fixed mounting devices that are mounted on the subject vehicle. Existing armor elements may be present to serve as the mounting devices. The armor shell provided for the buoyancy module protects it in both the deployed and stowed configurations.

  • Patent number: 6066015
Abstract: A buoy drilling anchoring system including a retrievable buoy anchoring drilling device and at least one anchorable marker buoy assembly anchorable into the earth's surface underwater. The retrievable buoy anchoring drilling device is adapted to anchor in the earth's surface underwater at least one anchorable marker buoy assembly having an earth penetratable anchor and is retrievable from underwater after the anchorable marker buoy assembly is anchored for subsequent use thereof. Thereby, a single retrievable buoy anchoring drilling device can be used to anchor a plurality of anchorable marker buoy assemblies such as used to mark the underwater locations for placement of cables or pipelines such as without limitation, a gas pipeline and an oil pipeline.

  • Patent number: 5553340
Abstract: A power chain saw utility tool provides an apparatus for effecting mechanical repairs and/or adjustments to a power chain saw having a chain bar. In one presently preferred embodiment, the power chain saw utility tool comprises a first elongated cylindrical case member that defines an elongated interior compartment having a transverse cross section with a non-circular shape into which a slide member is received. The slide member in this embodiment includes a plurality of interleaved members pivotally attached at one end thereof and comprising tools adaptable for making minor repairs and/or adjustments to the power chain saw. The slide member is selectively pivotable about the open end of the elongated cylindrical case member. When fully retracted, however, the slide member is received entirely within the elongated cylindrical case member.

  • Patent number: 5289922
Abstract: A mixture of particles of plastic materials having different work functions is fed through a rotating tube. The tube rotates about an axis which is inclined slightly to the horizontal. The tube is of plastic or metallic material, preferably having a rib for stirring the mixture. As the particles pass progressively down the length of the tube, the triboelectrically induced charge progressively increases, whereby the particles are highly charged upon emerging from the tube. The tube may be made of the same material as a minority component of the mixture to bring up the level of the charge on the majority component.

  • Patent number: 5240186
Abstract: A portable electrostatic liquid sprayer including a small internal combustion engine with a magneto-type ignition system providing a high voltage source to inductively charge atomized droplets being sprayed onto crops or plants. A conductive voltage tap is coupled between a spark plug boot from the magneto and the high voltage terminal of a spark plug for access to the high voltage provided by the magneto. A wire is connected to the voltage tap and routed and connected to an RC filter and rectifier circuit mounted in the sprayer head. A ground wire is electrically coupled to the chassis of the engine and also routed and connected to the RC filter and rectifier circuit. An electrode mounted near the outlet of the sprayer head and connected to the RC filter and rectifier circuit establishes an electrostatic field within the sprayer head effective to inductively charge the atomized droplets as they are being ejected from the sprayer head.

  • Patent number: 5199379
Abstract: The present invention relates to a breeding box that temporizes aggression of strong beaked exotic birds. In one aspect, the assembled box comprises (i) a central section having a pair of arms defining non-parallel axes of symmetry and a nesting arm extending from the pair of arms. The pair of arms in association with the nesting arm define a junction point between them. Each of the pair of arms also includes a normally open external passageway to permit external entry and egress of birds relative to the central section. The assembled box also includes (ii) a baffle positioned adjacent to the junction point of the arms. The baffle is in attaching contact with the central section whereby direct passage between the pair of arms bypassing the nesting arm is prevented, and wherein a sitting female within the nesting arm is provided with an escape option whereby male aggression can be temporized without disruption of the breeding cycle.

  • Patent number: 5078095
Abstract: The present invention relates to a breeding box that temporizes aggression of strong beaked exotic birds. In one aspect, the assembled box comprises a Tee-shaped central section having a pair of parallel arms defining a pair of spaced apart anteroom regions each connected by an opening to flight cage. Connected to the pair of parallel arms is a nesting arm for the female normal to the pair of arms and positioned below the latter. At the junction of three arms is a Tee-shaped baffle having a planar and a vertical element that limits direct passage of the male from parallel arm to parallel arm (bypassing the nesting arm), as when the female is escaping from the nest. That is, the vertical element forms a solid wall defining a vertical plane intersecting the nesting arm, while the parallel element limits passage height for the male that only permits him to crawl down into the nesting arm with his head exposed via a ladder.
