    Abstract: The present invention provides methods for treating a defect in long term memory formation or synaptic plasticity associated with a defect in an ADF1-like molecule. The present invention also provides methods for modulating long term memory formation or synaptic plasticity by modulating Adf1-like-dependent gene expression. The present invention also provides methods for screening a pharmaceutical agent for its ability to modulate ADF1-like activity or long term memory formation.
