Abstract: A fuel assembly for a gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fuel valve that meters flow of fluid between a combustor and a fuel supply, and a controller in communication with the fuel assembly. The controller is programmed to receive data corresponding to a present rotational speed of a gas turbine engine component and data corresponding to at least one present flight condition, and is programmed to cause a flow rate from the fuel valve to change in response to determining that a rate of change in an acceleration rate relating to the present rotational speed meets at least one predetermined threshold. At least one predetermined threshold relates to an engine light-off event of the combustor and is based upon the at least one present flight condition.

Abstract: An improved system and method for managing payment transactions whereby a paying entity and payment receiving entity perform the payment transaction using a transaction server of a payment management service provider that receives a keyword and performs a sequence of steps corresponding to a transaction scenario of a plurality of transaction scenarios corresponding to the keyword. As part of the sequence of steps the transaction server calls a phone of the paying entity to receive payment information that is provided using a keypad or voice commands. The transaction server provides the payment information to a payment processing service provider to authorize the transaction and provides transaction authorization information received from the payment processing service provider to the paying entity and payment receiving entity.

Abstract: Headgear for mounting a headlight on a surgeon's head includes a headband and a stabilizer. The headband encircles the wearer's head and the stabilizer is connectable to a rear section of the headband for engaging and cradling a substantial portion of at least a lower back region of a wearer's head when the headgear is worn by the wearer. The stabilizer includes a peripheral extending portion extending beneath the headband on opposite sides of the wearer's head corresponding to a location of a lower portion of an occipital bone of the wearer's head and a peripheral portion extending above the headband on opposite sides of the wearer's head corresponding to a location of a top of the occipital bone. The headgear can also include a connection element for removably connecting the stabilizer to the headband so that the headgear can be worn with or without the stabilizer.

Abstract: A kit, or family, of interchangeable headlamp parts for a headlight system is provided that enables illuminated light spots of different sizes and/or different light distribution styles to be produced. The headlight system includes a headband, a headlamp mounted on the headband, a light source, and a fiber optic cable having one end connected to the light source and an opposite end tip connected to the headlamp. According to one embodiment, an upper assembly of the headlamp includes a cable mounting module that is moveable relative to a core module and that permits the distance between the end tip of the fiber optic cable and a convergent lens to be adjusted to permit spots with different light distributions to be produced. A method of adjusting the light projected by a headlight system is also provided.

Abstract: A method and system of modeling a selected service within a network environment includes forming a service model template that is not specific to the network environment, but identifies anticipated network elements and network services that cooperate to enable the selected service. The service model template includes specifications related to linking the anticipated network elements and network services. When the service model template is combined with discovered instance information that is specific to actual network elements and actual network services, a service model instance is generated for the selected service. The service model instance includes identifications of dependencies among the elements and services. Preferably, the service model instance also includes identification of the “health” of the different elements and services.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system that provides a common application software interface for a variety of vendor supplied license servers. The system provides a single set of program calls and translates this single set of calls into a set of calls for each license server. This translation is performed using a translate table, which is easily updated to interface to newly developed or newly released license servers. The system runs as a separate process within the operating environment to monitor the application program, and as long as the application program continues to provide services to the user, the system sends periodic license renewal messages to the license server. The system also notifies the user when the application program cannot obtain a license in order to provide a consistent user interface across applications.

Abstract: Mounted on the entrance end of a firetube, the two screen elememts of an in-line flame arrestor are linearly spaced along a tubular core. A common aperture through the core wall is formed between the two screens. Combustion air directed through either, or both, screen elements enters the core through the aperture in the core wall to supply a fluid-fuel burner mounted within the core both primary and secondary portions of the combustion air. The effective size of the aperture is adjusted by a movable, internal sleeve within the core with linkage to the fuel supply system of the burner.

Abstract: A microscope drape fabricated from a very thin, transparent heat-resistant plastic film which is adapted to completely house an operating microscope including its support arms, is provided with an improved means for securing the tubular ocular housing extension of the drape to the oculars of the microscope which consists of a thin malleable strip attached to the ocular housing which permits the ocular housing to be secured to the microscope by crimping and folding over the metal strip after positioning the ocular housing on an ocular of a microscope.
