  • Publication number: 20120037370
Abstract: A well completion for use in enhanced recovery of heavy oil includes a compressor for pressurizing natural gas captured from a heavy oil formation to a specified pressure while maintaining the pressurized gas at a specified temperature by controlling conduction from the pressurized gas of adiabatic heat produced in its pressurization. The pressurized and heated natural gas is then reintroduced to the heavy oil formation to enhance production therefrom.

  • Patent number: 6077029
Abstract: An aid for use in repairing large appliances. The appliance support slips under a large appliance such as a washing machine and allows the service technician to tilt the appliance forward or sideways to an easier position to work on. The support has two angled working positions one at about 45 degrees tilt and a second at about 90 degrees of tilt of the appliance. This allows a technician to remove parts such as the back off a washing machine without bending down into an uncomfortable position. Flipping the appliance support over it can serve as a step stool.

  • Patent number: 5809673
Abstract: A display device comprising a first base panel comprising a first and a second slot, and a second base panel above the first base panel. The second base panel comprises a third and a fourth slot. The display device further comprises an opening member comprising a first opening face connecting at a first axis to a second opening face. The opening member further comprises a back face parallel to the second opening face. The opening member is connected to the first base panel at second axis, and the opening member is connected to the second base panel at a third axis. The device further comprises an elastic device cooperatively engaged between the first slot, the second slot, the third slot, and the fourth slot. The elastic device slides the first base panel along the second base panel, and the first opening face rotates along the second axis, the second opening face rotates along the first axis, and the back face rotates along the third axis.

  • Patent number: 5109610
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a contact-type probe for obtaining positional information concerning a workpiece characteristic, simultaneously in more than one positional axis. The probe comprises a probe body for mounting in a machine tool and to which other components may be mounted, a double swivel joint mounted to the probe body and a probe shaft mounted to the swivel and carrying a workpiece contact on one end. In operation, the workpiece contact attached to the probe shaft is moved over the workpiece, and the contact engages a characteristic such as an aperture in the workpiece. The probe body remains in a defined position, while the probe shaft may swivel in two axes to engage the characteristic. The magnitude of displacement necessary for the probe shaft to engage the characteristic may be determined to provide positional information concerning the characteristic.

  • Patent number: 4920652
Abstract: A double sided hack-saw blade is formed from a thin elongated metal strip having opposed longitudinal side edges respectively provided with first and second parallel saw tooth cutting edges. The blade is designed for reversible securement to a hack-saw handle to allow alternative use of the first and second cutting edges. The cutting edges may be formed with different tooth pitches to allow a single blade to be utilized for various diverse cutting operations. A removable cover for engagement with one of the cutting edges when not in use is formed from a three sided member having a rectangular channel dimensional for frictional engagement with the hack-saw blade. The cover includes a lubricating wick to lubricate the cutting edge and also provides protection to a user.

  • Patent number: 4811173
Abstract: Reflective and refractive apparatuses are provided for reflecting or refracting light from the vehicle rear tail light so that it may readily be viewed by bystanders and through the use of the rear view mirror of the vehicle. The refractive apparatus includes a translucent body having an opening communicating with a cavity therein and adhesive on a rim portion surrounding the opening. The translucent member is attached to the vehicle tail light with the adhesive and light travels through the opening and cavity and out through the translucent member. The reflective apparatus includes a ferroalloy bracket and a mirror pivotally attached thereto through the use of a plate. The bracket is selectively detachably attached to a ferroalloy portion of the vehicle with a magnet.

  • Patent number: 4624597
Abstract: A flanged bushing mounting adaptor for use in mounting a flanged bushing in the hub of a shaft-mountable structure, the hub having a tapered bore with recesses formed therein, and the bushing having a tapered barrel and a flange with threaded and unthreaded holes therein. The adaptor has a tapered outer circumferential surface for wedging engagement with the oppositely tapered hub, and a tapered bore for wedging engagement with the oppositely tapered barrel of the bushing. The adaptor also includes a plurality of threaded bores corresponding to the unthreaded holes in the flange, for receiving screws or bolts to secure the bushing to the adaptor and to draw the assembly into the hub. Bosses, or recesses with set screws, corresponding to the recesses in the hub, may be included on or in the outer surface of the adaptor to prevent relative rotation between the adaptor and the hub.

  • Patent number: 4525094
Abstract: A split, circular flanged bushing for securing driving or driven elements such as sheaves, pulleys, and the like to a rotatable shaft, having an integrally formed key in the center opening of the bushing for insertion in a corresponding keyway in the shaft. The bushing is formed in a sintering operation and increased density is imparted to fillets or junctions between the flange and the outer wall of the body, thereby providing increased resistance to stress fatigue in these critical areas. Fillets between the key and the inner wall of the body are provided to distribute the stress concentration inherent in these areas.

  • Patent number: 4441535
Abstract: A mobile log sawing and splitting machine including trailer frame having a vehicle engaging hitch at its forward end and ground engaging wheels at its rear end, with a saw mandrel mounted to extend crosswise of the beam adjacent its rear end and a log splitting mechanism mounted lengthwise of the beam for splitting cut-off sections of the logs. An internal combustion engine is mounted to enable quick disengagement of the engine from the drives for the log saw and log splitting mechanisms to facilitate starting and/or selectively disconnection of the drive to one or the other of the mechanisms. An upper saw guard is mounted for turning about the axis of the saw mandrel in response to movement of the log support mechanism during a cutting operation, and a lower stationary saw guard is arranged to receive the upper saw guard. The lengthwise extending trailer beam also functions as a hydraulic reservoir for the hydraulic power system.
