Abstract: A cue stick is provided with an extension assembly inserted into the handle end of the stick. The extension assembly includes a tube having internally threaded end portions. A shaft having a threaded locking end is inserted into the tube and threadably engages a first threaded tube end. Rotating the handle end of the cue stick in a counter-clockwise direction disengages the tube first end from the shaft and enables extension of the handle. Again, rotating the handle in a counter-clockwise direction causes the shaft to threadably engage a second threaded tube end thus locking the cue stick in an extended length.

Abstract: A basketball goal for mounting on a backboard for providing absorption and dissipation of the energy occuring during a dunk shot or the like. The rim of the goal is pivotally mounted to the backboard and held in place by means of a spring and fluid filled hydraulic piston-cylinder mechanism which are mounted between the backboard and the rim. A downward force on the rim is opposed primarily by a vertical coil spring surrounding the cylinder. The cylinder and spring are coaxial with the axis being substantially parallel to the plane of the backboard. The downward motion of the rim opens a valve in the piston-cylinder allowing the cylinder to be moved upwardly with the downward movement of the rim with substantially no hydraulic restrictions. When the rim begins its return to normal position under spring pressure, the valve is closed. The piston has a predetermined diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the cylinder.

Abstract: A wheeled vehicle is described having a drive sprocket bound onto the axle fixed to the vehicle and a driven wheel with a sprocket on its axle, with the driven chain connecting the sprocket for transmitting power from the drive sprocket to the driven sprocket. The invention comprises a chain tension adjusting device having a means for mounting the driven wheel axle for limited movement thereof toward and away from said drive sprocket axle, a fork frame having its legs rotatably mounted on the driven wheel axle on either side of the said driven sprocket and terminating at its closed end in at least one sleeve, with camming means mounted within said sleeve, and means for manually rotating said camming means within said sleeve so as to move said driven wheel axle by means of the fork frame toward and away from said drive sprocket axle.

Abstract: A portable dispensing device which includes a head assembly having an orifice therein and a handle assembly removably attached to said head assembly. The handle assembly includes a hollow substantially rigid reservoir housing having a piston assembly axially mounted therein and a means at the end of the housing opposite the head assembly for sealing the housing. A tapered expandable sleeve having a compensating expander therein, cooperating with a mating element within said sleeve and on the exterior of the expander for preventing rotational movement between the sleeve and the expander. A piston compressing adjusting disk is provided for axially moving the expander within said sleeve, and internal threading within said expander mates with an externally threaded feed rod which extends substantially the length of said housing and is secured to an actuating knob external of said housing.
