  • Patent number: 8657778
Abstract: A disposable assembly for use with a sensor assembly comprises a body, a flow restricting element, and a fluid pressure membrane. The body has a lid portion and a base portion. The body defines a fluid flow passage that forms an inlet and an outlet. The flow restricting element is positioned in the fluid flow passage between the inlet and the outlet. The membrane is located between the lid and base portions along the fluid flow passage. A reinforcing structure, such as a ring or a rigid disk, is positioned between the fluid pressure membrane and the lid portion to provide increased resistance to pressure in the fluid flow passage. The ring or disk can be a separate component or formed on the membrane. The membrane thickness adjacent to sensor access openings in the lid portion can be increased for pressure resistance, too.

Date of Patent: February 25, 2014
    Assignee: Hospira, Inc.
Inventors: John S. Ziegler, James D. Morrow, Olivier F. Currat, Jeff D. Bransky, Brian Barclay, Marwan A. Fathallah, James D. Jacobson

  • Publication number: 20090105673
Abstract: A medicament applicator for use with a medicament cartridge is disclosed herein. The applicator comprises a first member and a second member, and a first brush member and a second brush member. Moving the first member towards the second member causes the first brush member to move away from the second brush member, and causes the medicament cartridge to open, allowing its contents to exit.

  • Patent number: 7055442
Abstract: A portable desk including a base having a bottom surface forming a plurality of storage compartments which define a storage space. A top portion is hingedly attached to the base and movable between an open position and a closed position. Legs are positioned at opposing end portions of the base and connected to the base to pivotally move with respect to the base between a retracted position and an extended position. Each leg preferably has an outer surface that forms a recessed, concave portion. At least one snap element locks each leg with respect to the base in the extended position and includes a tab section formed on a bottom surface of the base which interferes with or engages a support edge formed at an end portion of a corresponding leg.
