  • Patent number: 7988178
Abstract: A motorcycle hitch assembly is disclosed for attachment to a hitch support on a motorcycle for towing a trailer. The hitch assembly comprises a base and a pivotal trailer ball carried by the base for being coupled with the trailer coupling. The trailer ball includes a ball element and a ball shank extending from the ball element having a free end. A pivot support connects the base and the ball shaft so that the trailer ball and base pivot relative to each other generally in a vertical plane so that the trailer ball remains generally vertical as the motorcycle and base lean during turning. A clearance space defined between the free end of the shank and a bottom of the base allow the trailer ball to pivot freely in a vertical plane. Binding between the trailer coupler and the trailer ball element is reduced during turning.

  • Patent number: 6164625
Abstract: A portable engine hoist which folds into a compact storage position. The base of the hoist is equipped with two support wheels. Two elongated legs extend from the base and are adapted to receive leg extensions. The leg extensions are provided with wheels at one end and the other end can be inserted into a leg. An upright post extends from a base support and carries a pivotally mounted lifting beam at its top end. A mechanical or hydraulic jack operates to raise and lower the lifting beam to raise and lower an engine. Position adjustment and maintenance means for easy assembly of the leg extensions are provided. A cam slot locking means associated with the lifting beam provides stability under the load.

  • Patent number: 5800000
Abstract: The present invention provides a load adjusting device for use with a hoisting unit. The device includes a load spreader or spreader bar supported from a single lift point hoist by a load leveling assembly that provides an ability to adjust the location of the single lift point with respect to the spreader bar. A roller support device allows the location of the single lift point to be accurately positioned along the spreader bar. Changing this position provides an attitude adjustment of the load about a horizontal pitch axis perpendicular to the spreader bar. At both ends of the spreader bar end lifting elements support the load from a plurality of transfer linkages associated with the load. The end lifting elements have load supports and adjustors that allow the load to be biaxially adjusted about both the horizontal pitch axis, as well as a horizontal roll axis parallel to the spreader bar.

  • Patent number: 5221073
Abstract: A floor jack is provided with safety means to prevent arms of the jack from retracting while the arms are in a raised position. This safety means is insertable through opposing pairs of notches in the side plates of the floor jack, these notches being aligned opposite from one another.
