  • Publication number: 20030172455
Abstract: A futon frame having a base supporting a back and a seat for adjustment between a flat bed position and a sofa position comprises at least one spring having a first end mounted to the base and a second end mounted to the seat for assisting a user in adjusting the back and seat from the bed position to the sofa position. A detent member attached to the seat engages an abutment surface fixed relative to the base to releasably lock the seat in its bed position counter to the spring force. A user lifts a front end of the seat to disengage the detent member and begin adjustment. The spring acts generally along a direction of travel of the seat during adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6155175
Abstract: A railroad vibratory system having a hopper, a shaker, a conveyor assembly and a handling device that fastens railroad material to secure a railroad track onto a railroad track system. The hopper releases the railroad material, through an aperture. The shaker oscillates the hopper so the railroad material releases, controlled and orderly, through the aperture. The conveyor assembly receives the railroad material through the aperture and transports the railroad material to the handling device.

  • Patent number: 6138299
Abstract: A futon frame includes a pair of linear actuators mounted at opposing sides thereof for driving a folding seat and back of the frame to automatically and continuously adjust the seat and back between a sofa position and a bed position. The back is connected to opposing sides of the frame by upper and lower follower bearings arranged for travel within corresponding upper and lower guide channels in each opposing side of the frame. A motor controller is mounted to the underside of the seat for connecting a user interface to the linear actuator motors.

  • Patent number: 6061848
Abstract: A futon frame includes a seat having a pair of electric motors mounted at opposing sides thereof for driving a pair of pinions arranged to engage inclined toothed racks mounted on each side of the frame for automatically and continuously adjusting the seat and a pivotally connected back between a sofa position and a bed position. The back is connected to opposing sides of the frame by upper and lower follower bearings arranged for travel within corresponding upper and lower guide channels in each opposing side of the frame. A motor controller is mounted to the underside of the seat for connecting a user interface to the motors.

  • Patent number: 5790993
Abstract: A futon frame includes a seat having a pair of electric motors mounted at opposite sides thereof for driving a pair of pinions arranged to engage inclined toothed racks mounted on each side of the frame for automatically and continuously adjusting the seat and a hingedly connected back between a sofa position and a bed position. Follower pins fixed relative to the seat are arranged to slidably engage matching guide surfaces above the toothed racks. The back is connected to opposite sides of the frame by a pair of link arms pivotal at each point of connection. A motor controller is mounted to the underside of the seat for connecting a user interface to the motors.
