Publication number: 20180303688Abstract: Methods and systems for lift monitoring are described. In one embodiment, a first operation signal may be received from a first relay coupled to an electro-mechanical patient lift when the electro-mechanical patient lift is being operated in a first position. A second operation signal may be received from a second relay coupled to the electro-mechanical patient lift when the electro-mechanical patient lift is being operated in a second position. A determination of whether a lift qualification threshold is met may be based on the receiving of the first operation signal and the second operation signal. An occurrence of a lift may be recorded when a determination is made that the lift qualification threshold is met. Additional methods and systems are disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2018Publication date: October 25, 2018Inventors: James D. Todd, Thomas Hollinger, Christopher F. Fangrow

Patent number: 8436727Abstract: Methods and systems for door access and patient monitoring are described. The patient monitoring system includes a door access control system coupled to one or more doors of a facility for monitoring and controlling the access of patients coupled to a patient monitoring device. Whenever a patient coupled to a patient monitoring device comes within a predetermined distance of a particular door the door access control system transmits a first signal encoded with the door location data to the patient monitoring device. The patient monitoring device then transmits a second signal encoded with the door location data and patient identification data of the patient coupled to the monitoring device to the door access control system and a monitoring system that controls the door access and monitoring of patient within the facility.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2010Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Inventors: James D. Todd, Thomas Hollinger, Christopher F. Fangrow

Patent number: 4835744Abstract: A marine seismic data acquisition system and method includes a plurality of hydrophone arrays. A marine cable is towed in the water by a boat. The marine cable includes a plurality of active modules. Each active module is connected to a corresponding hydrophone array and collects seismic data from the geophones. The marine cable also includes a plurality of passive modules interspersed with a plurality of active modules, with each passive module generating, receiving and transmitting signals. The passive modules and the active modules are connected by electrical wires with each other and to the electronic equipment on the boat. The electronic equipment on the boat includes a subsystem for activating the active modules; another subsystem for interrogating the active modules and the passive modules and circuitry connected to the activating subsystem and to the interrogation subsystem which determines the source of transmission errors in signals received over the marine cable.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1987Date of Patent: May 30, 1989Assignee: Texaco Inc.Inventors: James D. Todd, Herbert J. Meyer, Albert J. Zorn

Patent number: 4087780Abstract: Two modifications of an offshore marine seismic energy source tow system are disclosed. Both systems comprise transmitters and receivers therein for continuously measuring the distance between a vessel towed submerged geophone streamer cable and a towed seismic air gun supporting paravane on each side of the streamer cable for generating and transmitting corrective steering signals to the paravane for maintaining each seismic air gun spaced from the towed submerged geophones at an exact predetermined distance for producing more accurate seismic velocity measurements. One embodiment has the acoustic transmitter on the geophone streamer cable and an acoustic receiver on each paravane in line with the transmitter, and a second embodiment has an acoustic transmitter on each paravane and a corresponding acoustic receiver for each paravane on the geophone streamer cable transversely of the transmitter. Methods for assembling the above two systems are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1976Date of Patent: May 2, 1978Assignee: Texaco Inc.Inventors: Oswald A. Itria, James D. Todd

Patent number: 4063213Abstract: Methods for maintaining a steerable paravane supported seismic energy source, as an air gun, positioned laterally at a precise constant predetermined distance from a geophone mounted on a submerged geophone streamer cable while recording offshore marine seismic reflection data from a seismic tow system including electrical controls on a recording boat for towing the paravane and geophone streamer cable. Two modifications are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1976Date of Patent: December 13, 1977Assignee: Texaco Inc.Inventors: Oswald A. Itria, James D. Todd
