  • Patent number: 6109591
Abstract: A continuous flow type proportional flow control valve having a very wide controllable flow range and having a valve seat port design permitting a continuous, stable closed loop control to be achieved. The flow port design cooperates with a simple cylindrical flow passage of a movable valve element and provides the valve with a very wide flow control range and the ability to smoothly control the opening, modulation, and closing of the valve to eliminate undesirable hydraulic shock which is an undesirable characteristic of pulse operated flow control systems. The flow controlling seat has a flow controlling port therein that cooperates with the flow port of the closure to define an effective valve opening that is proportionally variable over a wide range of closure movement. The seat port is provided with an extremely narrow elongate slot section less than 1/50th of the maximum width of the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5787991
Abstract: An adjustable ridger for a cultivator includes an elongated ridger frame adapted to mount to the sweep member of the cultivator. The frame has a top bracket with an elongated slot extending therethrough. The slot has a width and a longitudinal axis. A plurality of setting holes in the top bracket are spaced apart along the longitudinal axis of the slot, each setting hole having a diameter greater than the width of the slot. A bottom bracket is spaced apart from the top bracket on the frame and has a guide hole therein. An elongated pull pin, having a stepped outer diameter with first and second diameter portions, is insertable through the slot in the top bracket and into the guide hole in the bottom bracket to act as a hinge pin. The second diameter portion is larger than the first diameter portion and yet smaller than the diameter of the setting holes. At least one wing pivotally mounts on the pull pin between the top and bottom brackets.

  • Patent number: 5573072
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the operating position of a cultivator tool includes a tool bar with a frame secured thereto, a tool arm pivotally mounting the cultivator tool on the frame, a bracket having a plurality of holes therein mounted on the frame, and a tiltable lever arm mechanism pivotally mounted on the frame. The latter includes a lever having a first end portion constituting a handle, a second end portion, and a detent pin adapted to engage the holes in the bracket. A spring assembly yieldingly urges or tilts the bracket and lever together so the pin normally engages one of the holes. A handle extension can be installed to apply additional leverage, if needed. When the second end portion is connected to the frame by torsional spring, the downpressure exerted on an implement mounted on the frame can be varied. In another embodiment, a linkage bar pivotally connects the second end portion of the lever with the tool arm and allows the apparatus to raise and lower the tool.

  • Patent number: 4974683
Abstract: A ridge tillage attachment includes springs associated with a linkage which guides a tool and wheel support beam for vertical movement, the springs being mounted within the linkage envelop to provide a compact arrangement and being operative to apply required forces to to a tool and wheels carried by the beam, while facilitating disassembly of the attachment when desired. The attachment also includes a structure which securely connects wheel axles to the support beam with a clamping action while being adjustable to provide a large range of relative positional values.

  • Patent number: 4749930
Abstract: A high speed positive feed drill motor open loop control system. The motor system comprises a minimally limited inertia air turbine motor including mounting guidance and control for enabling the drill to advance into the workpiece at a rate exactly proportional to the rotational speed of the drill. The turbine speed is measured with a digital tachometer while a stepper motor/ball screw mechanism is utilized to control and apply the feed rate.
