Publication number: 20150177426Abstract: The present subject matter provides a transitional layer and related methods, used to increase the transmission or reflection of light between two mediums having different indices of refraction. The transitional layer is disposed between the two mediums and the transmission or reflection of light is increased by the interaction of light with the transitional layer. The transitional layer has light scattering particles dispersed therein, a single-layer gradient index-of-refraction, a multi-layer gradient index-of-refraction, alternating layers of high and low index-of-refraction, or a combination thereof, in order to increase the transmission or reflectance of light between the two mediums.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2013Publication date: June 25, 2015Applicant: FERRO CORPORATIONInventors: George E. Publication number: 20140053510Abstract: Monitoring current draw of an actuator associated with a rotating arm on a round baler during a net wrapping cycle is used to determine the position of the rotating arm and actuator, as well as to determine the net tension. The current draw of the actuator may be correlated with the home and insert positions of the rotating arm during the net wrapping cycle; thus by monitoring the current draw, the rotating arm and actuator position is determined and may be provided to aid an operator. The net tension during the net wrapping cycle is a function of the rotating arm and actuator current. A calculation of net tension is determined and provided to an operator, allowing the operator to verify performance issues related to the net tension.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2012Publication date: February 27, 2014Applicant: CNH AMERICA LLCInventors: Kevin M. SMITH, Mark K. Chow, Carl Brewer, James D. Walker, Justin J. Snook, Larry L. Hoover

Publication number: 20140041537Abstract: An improved belt guide system comprising individual guide sleeves mounted on one or more of the guide rolls, one sleeve for each belt, in an agricultural round baler. Each sleeve encircles the roll surface of the guide roll and is positioned between the belt and the guide roll surface in a manner allowing relative rotational movement between the sleeve and the guide roll. Each guide sleeve is thus allowed to match the peripheral speed of the respective belt as it passes over the guide roll and allow slippage to occur between the guide roll surface and the inner circumference of the guide sleeve. Flanges extending radially outwardly on each sleeve end maintain the sleeve alignment with the respective belt.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2012Publication date: February 13, 2014Inventors: Frederick R. Patent number: 7716903Abstract: A round bale wrapping mechanism that employs a second roll of wrapping material that is mounted adjacent an active roll. The second roll is powered by an electric clutch that allows a belt drive connected between the first roll and the second roll to rotate the second roll of wrapping material. The wrapping material on the second roll thus feeds onto the wrapping material being fed from the active roll and if fed through the wrapping mechanism onto the bale before the active roll is exhausted of wrapping material.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2008Date of Patent: May 18, 2010Assignee: CNH America LLCInventors: John R. Publication number: 20020095415Abstract: There is disclosed a browser capable of accessing only web pages previously authorized by a parent or supervisor of a user of the browser. In a supervisor mode of operation, a parent can browse through any accessible web site, and continually add approved web sites to a database of authorized web sites. Later, in a user mode of operation, the child is capable of accessing only those web sites that have been added to the authorized web site database. In the supervisor mode of operation, the browser also generates pixel signatures based on image data contained in web pages of the authorized web sites and generates checksum values based on text data contained in web pages of the authorized web sites. The browser later compares pixel signatures and checksum values from subsequently accessed web pages to the original pixel signatures and checksum values to determine if any of the data in the authorized web pages has been changed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2001Publication date: July 18, 2002Applicant: DoodleBug Online, Inc.Inventors: James D. Patent number: 6330782Abstract: A mechanism for manually and automatically adjusting the front support drum of an endless conveyor within the feederhouse of an agricultural combine. The front drum is rotatably affixed to the remote end of a pivot arm that is pivotably affixed to the side sheet of the feederhouse. The relative position of the drum to the floor of the feederhouse is manually adjustable by manipulation of a cam that moves the pivot arm toward and away from the floor to preset positions. In combination with the adjustment mechanism, is a pivot mounting for the pivot arm that allows the drum to move upwardly and rearwardly when a bulk or lump of crop material enters the opening between the drum and the floor, thereby preventing damage to the components of the feederhouse.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2000Date of Patent: December 18, 2001Assignee: New Holland North America, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Digman, James D. Walker, James Bennett

Patent number: 6003658Abstract: Telescoping rigid frame/scissor conveyors with suspension structures to accommodate less than totally flat surfaces, and for easy and ergonomic repositioning. Such conveyors are formed of a plurality of telescoping frame segments which may be positioned at any number of desired nested/unnested configurations. The frame segments bear a lazy tong or scissors conveyor structure which assures uniform roller spacing, and rollers positioned at one height along the conveyor rather than at different heights for each frame segment. The conveyors are adapted to bear greater weight than conventional lazy tongs conveyors, but contain suspension systems in order to conform to irregularities in factory and warehouse floors and slabs and for easy movement.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1995Date of Patent: December 21, 1999Assignee: Northstar Industries, Inc.Inventors: John W. Patent number: 5636728Abstract: Power modules for expandable conveyors. The power modules contain motor driven rollers whose operation may be speed, direction and otherwise controlled as desired. The module connects to the end of an expandable conveyor, such as a conventional scissors conveyor, to allow repositioning, expansion and contraction of the conveyor with minimum risk of overexertion, strain and injury. Rollers may be positioned along the top surface of the power module as an extension of the conveyor for conveying items to ultimate destination. Gripping surfaces may be provided which act in combination with swivel mounted wheels to allow efficient and effective steering of the power module and the conveyor. The gripping surfaces may be located conveniently in the vicinity of a control panel for controlling actuation of the motor and the drive wheels.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1994Date of Patent: June 10, 1997Assignee: Northstar Industries, Inc.Inventors: John W.
