  • Patent number: 8322086
Abstract: The off-site manufacture and on-site assembly of a prefabricated dwelling unit (“Unit”) are described herein. The Unit may be a single stand-alone Unit or an individual Unit within a group of Units such as a duplex or apartment building. The Unit is substantially prefabricated and nests within itself through a configurable design that utilizes a floor framing system. The Unit may also include fold down floor assemblies, moveable walls of 96? height, pre-installed floors and fixtures. The Unit may be configured for a decreased footprint that will fit into a single shipping container along with the other necessary components for completion of the Unit on-site. The Unit may be loaded and unloaded from a single shipping container without substantially limiting the size, shape, or aesthetics of the Unit while being substantially prefabricated.

  • Publication number: 20120110925
Abstract: An off-the-grid prefabricated structure that is configured to be shipped in a standard shipping container in collapsed state and then be assembled into an expanded state at its final destination. The prefabricated structure includes its own internal power and water sources. The power source may be a low voltage direct current power source that provides power to common appliances and fixtures that operate at low voltage. Additionally or alternatively, solar energy collection devices may be integrated into the prefabricated structure to supply the internal power source. The water source may be a liquid tight flexible bag that is stored within one or more access spaces in the prefabricated structure.

  • Publication number: 20120113623
Abstract: A solar powered lighting assembly that can provide natural light and/or emitted light to the interior area of a building or other habitable structure and the power source may be a low voltage direct current power source or solar cells disposed within the lighting assembly.

  • Patent number: 5099868
Abstract: A concentrically multi-shafted apparatus compresses a compressible stopper to effect a seal in a through-hole of a main utility line to permit a substantially leak-free removal and replacement of a service saddle or a service seal. Counter rotation of concentric shafts, depending upon the direction of rotation, increases or decreases an axial load on the compressible stopper. The external concentric shaft is in sealing engagement with a housing which, when coupled to a utility customer's gate valve permits a main line through-hole to be sealed by the compressible stopper without leakage of water or gas. Once the through-hole is sealed, the service saddle can easily be removed and replaced.
