  • Patent number: 8224937
Abstract: Event reports generated from multiple event sources within an event management system such as Tivoli (TM) Event Console are handled by an Event Bus, which links multiple problem resolution servers together and assigns an ownership to each event report. The Event Bus parses each incoming event for adding or altering a slot value. Based on the slot value, the event is forwarded to the configured event servers. In addition, the ability to dynamically change ownership to maintain an error-free systematic transmission flow is provided.

  • Patent number: 7475286
Abstract: A system and method for correlating end user error reports with software developer defect logs to thereby update the end user error reports with information from the developer defect logs. With the system and method, when support personnel open an end user error report to address the problem encountered by the user, the mechanisms of the system and method search a defect report database to determine if there is any defect report related to the same error that is the subject of the opened end user error report. If so, the end user error report is updated to include information from the defect report. This information may include, for example, the identity of the source of the problem generating the error, the identity of the fix or patch that solves the problem generating the error encountered by the end user, if any, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6493752
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a display screen for a network security device. The screen includes representations of a source and a destination having respective source and destination indicators, such as LEDs. The source indicator is operable to indicate whether the source is authorized or unauthorized. The destination indicator is also operable to indicate whether the destination is authorized or unauthorized to receive the packet. A directional indicator oriented to point from the representation of the source to the representation of the destination is activated if the source and the received packet is authorized, The screen can further comprise additional indicators to indicate whether the security device is operational, to indicate a level of traffic through the security device, or to display a level of activity of a processor for the security device. The screen can be displayed on a computer screen.
