  • Patent number: 9924584
Abstract: A method of pixel control which reduces the number of DMX control channels required for generation of artistic pixel patterns displayed on a large number of pixel LEDs is described. Further described are a set of control parameters which facilitate the introduction of pixel control and sophisticated pixel pattern generation without a costly DMX controller upgrade. Also described is a device for generating lighting effects. The device may be portable, battery-powered, radio-controlled and small enough to easily hide in most theatrical and film sets, set pieces, props, and practicals. The device may be configured to process DMX data for controlling and generating graphical patterns among pixel LEDs based on the set of one or more control parameters. The method and device relocate the processing of the DMX data from the DMX controller to one or more individual hardware drivers for the pixel LEDS.

  • Patent number: 9226375
Abstract: Provided is a system for controlling lighting effects. The system comprises a controller and one or more wireless dimmer devices with incorporated digital effects engine. The controller transmits wirelessly and effects parameters to the wireless dimmer devices. The dimmer devices receive the effects parameters, generate output effects parameters using the digital effects engine, and provide the output effects parameters to either dimmer output channels or DMX output channels. The digital effect engine comprises a low frequency oscillator and several random number generators. The random number generators may be used to modulate frequency of the low frequency oscillator and modulate a level of each dimmer output channel. The random number generators are configured to generate independent strings of pseudo-random numbers.

  • Publication number: 20150223307
Abstract: Provided is a system for controlling theatrical effects. The system comprises a console and one or more wireless controller devices. The console transmits wirelessly effects parameters to the wireless controller devices. The controller devices receive the effects parameters, generate output effects parameters using a combination of zero or more of a digital effects engine, a color controller, and/or a router, and provide the output effects parameters to dimmer output channels. The dimmer output channels convert the effects parameters to pulse width modulation signals that drive light sources. The pulse width modulation signals may be of an ultrasonic frequency to limit interference with audio equipment, microphones, and musical instruments.

The controller devices receive the effects parameters, generate output effects parameters using a combination of zero or more of a digital effects engine, a color controller, and/or a router, and provide the output effects parameters to dimmer output channels. The controller device may use an H-bridge to control a bidirectional DC motor driver, an AC inverter, light dimming, and pulse-code-modulation of servo motors. User-adjustable parameters may be available to select the functional mode and characteristics of operation in each mode.

  • Publication number: 20150216014
Abstract: Provided is a system for controlling lighting effects. A console transmits primary color parameters to one or more wireless controller devices controlling light sources that mix primary colors. The controller devices adjust the primary color parameters so different sets of light sources controlled by the controller devices produce the same color output when receiving the same primary color parameters. The amount of adjustment may be previously defined by the user based on visually matching the different sets of light sources.

  • Publication number: 20150177714
Abstract: Provided is a system for controlling theatrical effects. The system comprises a main console and one or more battery-powered wireless controller devices. The console can transmit DMX data wirelessly to the wireless controller devices. The controller devices convert DMX data into different formats using a protocol converter. The converted data can be made available to external devices via different hardware ports and outputs. Another controller device can control a data control H-bridged powered dimmer. The H-bridge can be selected to operate either as an AC inverter or a bidirectional DC motor driver. User-adjustable parameters may be available to select the functional mode and characteristics of operation in each mode.

  • Publication number: 20110163961
Abstract: Electronic devices such as mobile telephones have the ability for a wide range of commands to be implemented via a number of keys. Because the number of keys is limited it is usually necessary to map more than one possible command to a particular key. For example, each command may be an instruction to a texting software application running on the mobile to insert a particular character into the text. Each key may be used to enter four characters. However, it is desirable to provide a capability to handle even greater number of characters per key in a convenient manner and this is achieved by providing different map levels where each level provides a set of characters to be “mapped” to the key. A command is provided at each level for the selection of another map level. Thus, by using this command, the key may be mapped to more characters in a very convenient manner.

  • Patent number: 7169418
Abstract: A fresh packaging system for roast and ground coffee having a top load capacity of at least about 16 pounds (7.3 Kg) comprising a container with a closed bottom, an open top, and a body enclosing a perimeter between the bottom and the top. A protuberance is continuously disposed around the perimeter of the body proximate to the top and forms a ridge external to the body. A flexible closure is removeably attached and sealed to the protuberance so that the closure seals the interior volume of the container. The container bottom and container body are constructed from a material having a tensile modulus number ranging from at least about 35,000 to at least about 650,000 pounds per square inch (at least about 2,381 to at least about 44,230 atm).
