Publication number: 20230382571Abstract: An apparatus configured to provide portioned instances of a compressible material includes a channel assembly, a gas source, a cutting assembly, and a discharge assembly. The channel assembly holds a bulk instance of the material extending through upper and lower channels of a continuous channel. The gas source supplies gas to compress the bulk instance. The cutting assembly moves in relation to the channel assembly to isolate the upper and lower channels, severing upper and lower material portions of the bulk instance. The discharge assembly directs gas to impinge on a lower face of the cutting assembly to discharge the lower material portion as a portioned instance. The channel assembly may be moveable, where operation of the gas source, cutting assembly, and/or discharge assembly are based on moving the channel assembly between various positions. The gas supply may be controlled based on a determined property of the portioned instance.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2023Publication date: November 30, 2023Applicant: Altria Client Services LLCInventors: Dwight David WILLIAMS, James David EVANS, Patrick Sean MCELHINNEY, Jarrod Wayne CHALKLEY

Publication number: 20230325495Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of detecting an algorithmic attack against a hosted artificial intelligence (AI) system based on inputs (e.g., queries) and outputs of the hosted AI system. In a first example, a feature-based classifier model is used to generate a classification score based on features that are derived from numerical representations of the queries and the outputs, and an algorithmic attack is detected based on the classification score being greater than or equal to a score threshold. In a second example, a transformer-based model is used to generate a vector by providing a multivariate time series, which is based on attribute(s) of the inputs and attribute(s) of the outputs, as an input to the transformer-based model, and an algorithmic attack is detected based on a distance between the vector and a point corresponding to a reference vector being less than or equal to a distance threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2022Publication date: October 12, 2023Inventors: Hyrum Spencer ANDERSON, Raja Sekhar Rao DHEEKONDA, William PEARCE, Ricky Dee LOYND, James David MCCAFFREY, Ram Shankar SIVA KUMAR

Patent number: 11782845Abstract: An apparatus comprises memory management circuitry to perform a translation table walk for a target address of a memory access request and to signal a fault in response to the translation table walk identifying a fault condition for the target address, prefetch circuitry to generate a prefetch request to request prefetching of information associated with a prefetch target address to a cache; and faulting address prediction circuitry to predict whether the memory management circuitry would identify the fault condition for the prefetch target address if the translation table walk was performed by the memory management circuitry for the prefetch target address. In response to a prediction that the fault condition would be identified for the prefetch target address, the prefetch circuitry suppresses the prefetch request and the memory management circuitry prevents the translation table walk being performed for the prefetch target address of the prefetch request.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: Arm LimitedInventors: Alexander Cole Shulyak, Joseph Michael Pusdesris, Abhishek Raja, Karthik Sundaram, Anoop Ramachandra Iyer, Michael Brian Schinzler, James David Dundas, Yasuo Ishii

Publication number: 20230287717Abstract: A hardware assembly providing a motion-activated vent stop for a vent window assembly. The hardware assembly can detect excessive forces acting on the vent and quickly arrest any unintended or induced movement of the vent while enabling the regular function of the vent window under normal operating conditions. When an opening force acting on the vent exceeds a predetermined value, the resulting torque causes a shoe to pivot and engage a stepped profile of a guide slot of a track along which the shoe moves. Once engaged, the shoe cannot move along the track and continued movement of the vent is halted. The shoe includes a biasing member that engages the guide slot and produces a counter-torque that tends to bias the shoe generally vertically in the guide slot and enable the shoe to travel freely under normal operating conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2022Publication date: September 14, 2023Applicant: Caldwell Manufacturing Company North America, LLCInventors: James M.
